Marilyn would have made the character obvious, because of Audrey we don't feel that this story is about an adult theme. Even a child could watch it, she gave the character a sense of innocence. Marilyn would have made it just sexy. There's more to a character than acting sexy. Audrey was a goddess, we will never have another actress like her again.

Marilyn would've been too much. While Audrey wasn't an innocent little lamb, she appeared that way, making the character of Holly Golightly more tragic and adorable. She made her one of the most complex characters of all time.

I really don't think Yunioshi even adds anything to the story. It would be a better movie if his scenes were left out. It's a classic example of how tastes change- in 1961 most people didn't care but not those scenes are unwatchable.

Breakfast at Tifanny's was the best thing Audrey Hepburn ever did!! She was perfect in this role. I love the part where she sings "Moon River" with the guitar! This movie is just classic... all I gotta say is that they better never remake this thing..it's perfect just the way it is!!

Audrey Hepburn was perfect. No other actress could’ve played that role as well and no other actress will ever play that role as well.

I never met her, but I'm sure she was intelligent and understood the character. I don't like watching people in movies having sex. I'm 45, call me old fashioned, but to me it's like peeping into a window and watching two people. Sex is normal, but it should be kept private between two people in my opinion. In older movies you knew they were having it, the audience was sophisticated enough to know. I guess that's not the case today.

Audrey Hepburn was the perfect replacement for Marilyn Monroe as Holly Golightly. I can't imagine if Holly not portrayed by Audrey Hepburn

Ive read that Marilyn Monroe was difficult to work with, unlike Audrey. And Capote even says Holly is more of a geisha. So not the sexy type. I think Audrey was perfect actress for this role!
