Today, I played 3 games where every line of text was destroyed by Google Translate. Enjoy this strange trilogy of games featuring the world famous Joe Green and infamous criminal White Daddy.

I remember when GTA SA's Wasted was translated in Russian as "Spent" (Потрачено), it became an eternal meme which is known even to this day

The real crime against humanity is that in the German version of GTA V (I think it started much earlier) "AUSSER GEFECHT" is used for "WASTED", which is both two words, hence much longer and literally means "OUT OF (THE) COMBAT". Even worse, nowadays in Germany+Austria the capital (e)sz(ett)-ligature 'ẞ' should be used to form "AUẞER GEFECHT" which at least looks better imo. Why it's not just "ABGEMURKST", "UMGELEGT", etc. or plain old "GETÖTET" (literally: "KILLED") is beyond me.

Here's a mention of HIM from the Italian version of Fallout 3: When the player asks Roy Philips why he killed all the human residents of Tenpenny Tower, he responds with a simple "They had it coming!". In Italian they took the line's meaning way too literally, with Roy Philips answering the player's aforementioned question with the line: "L'hanno fatto venire!" which translates to... "They made him come here!", as if someone actually arrived there.

oh my absolute goodness I can explain one of the bad translations this rarely happens to me. Apple became sorry because of Korean. In Korean, both are 사과 (sagwa). Well, technically it's apology rather than sorry, but you can still tell how it got that way. It's very obvious through context which one you mean, if you are human with human meat brain. Machine with server brain still hasn't mastered this yet, apparently. And yes, there are puns in Korean based on this though I literally cannot think of a single one right now. It also led me to develop my own English equivalent: applology. It is not the study of apples, it is a sorry apple. You are all welcome to it. Anyway can you tell that I'm writing this at 2am

Well, our language has the worst translation quality on google so makes sense, 사과 could mean either apple or sorry. Still confusing for me as my Koreans a bit rusty as I live in the states now.
