I see a lot of these fail in the module. Also any water blocked in the housing will fault out until you remove and clear the water out. They communicate with the gas valve to modulate the loads. Starting off super low and gradually ramping up

if it is a modulator, inducer must be ecm. for 2-stage i think it is total overkill and not worth the extra percentage point or two in efficiency - getting the fuel to air mix right - calibrates itself to venting system@@purplemonster2239

Spare no expense. If it costs the consumer $1800 for an ECM inducer replacement, so be it. If the secondary HX rusts out, oh, not IF, but WHEN, so be it, another $3500 or just get a new furnace. Carrier has GOT to be the most expensive parts that may be purchased. ECM on the blower, ECM on the outdoor condenser fan, ECM on the inducer. Ha ha, United Tech execs need to pay for their yachts, don't ya know? Oh, that "warrant" that Carrier has, parts only, right?

Oh, and that ComfortZone II, where any nearby lightning strike blows the comm chip or worse. And no replacement for the ZoneCC, just the new model Touch... heck yeah, gotta pay for that yatch.

How is the water getting into the air intake pipe? I assume the pipe terminates on the roof or high up on side of building. Can’t a roofer put an ell-90 on the intake pipe to prevent rainwater ingestion?

Your guess is as good as mine. They use concentric venting out the side wall of the building. Draws air from the sides, exhaust out the middle. I’m just going off what Carrier tells me.

Yea they are usually a good bit cheaper than local suppliers.

For a new, extremely expensive, high-tech part, those inducer blowers make a hell of a lot of noise. (And they just get louder from then on). Many of them make a high-pitched/whining sound as the RPM ramps up and then stays there as it runs.The standard inducer motors of any brand is quieter than that. Sheesh!
