I'm glad we got em. He's a very likable dude and is well respected by everyone. I believe he's the right coach to bring us to the SEC. It might not be pretty this 1st season, but I think we'll make some waves this season and hopefully in a championship in the 2025-2026 season. He's getting the great defense recruits. I'm just not sure if it's quite deep enough in the first sec year.

Love seeing all of the positive comments because this was BV on a snails pace. You don’t catch him tired very often but you can tell it took him a minute to get going. So many coaches have a win today and who cares about tomorrow approach where BV from day one saw the issues of a Riley ran program, knows what it takes to win NC’s, he has 3 and knows how you build a championship yet sustainable program not just team. He had a plan from day one that stretched well beyond the field yet everything ties into winning and how you do it the right way. His message is consistent and he never waivers from his plan and vision. The SOUL mission program was laughed at by some in the beginning not seeing the attraction and/or the benefit of such a program but as a parent of teenage athletes that compete at a high level I can’t imagine a coach I would rather have them play for in any sport at any level. He knows it takes time to do things right and to build a sustainable program that the next coach won’t have to start where he did after Riley and will have a much easier and quicker path to success. Of course we don’t know what 2024 will look like but what I do know is that SEC fans and talking heads will find out who OU is and always has been. When you have historical jokes of a program like Mizzou thinking they somehow have surpassed OU there are some programs that are going to be reminded how many times they have been kicked around the field by Oklahoma. It’s not the competition I’m worried about as OU can play with anyone but it’s the fact that the competition in conference doesn’t really give you a break from week to week. UT being pushed as some championship program all of the sudden are failing to remember the recent history of the program and the fact last season was literally Sarks first season winning double digits. He’s done a great job but it’s the fact UT is being held up on a pedestal and OU being looked at as a lower tier team is one of the strangest turnarounds in perception that I’ve seen in a while. They have been a laughing stock for over the last decade and they finally win 10 plus games and make the playoffs “ONE” year and all of the sudden they are being picked for NC’s? Great thing about sports is we always find out who is who and what’s what. Anyone thinking OU will come in and struggle literally have no idea where this program is and who this program has been. It’s still the winningest program in the modern era. THE WINNINGEST This isn’t a program that knows anything other than winning. As the Great Barry Switzer said, “ Oklahoma invented winning”.

I'm concerned about the future power dynamics within college football between coaches, players, and donors now that NIL is becoming a thing. It's going to make it tougher for coaches to enforce and instill their principles with tip talent at a top program, because there's easily demand and money for them at other programs. Then you have big NIL donors, or even university donors to worry about. All they'd have to do is threaten to pull their donations if they don't like what you're doing, or like the principles you're trying to instill.. And most people in institutions are unprincipled and are quick to down to money.
