I go to the shows quite a bit when they make it to Calgary, to this day Canadian Stampede is still the best wrestling show I ever saw live. Being in that crowd was an experience I'll never forget.
@Brook112232 күн бұрын
July 1997 - Canadian Stampede and it brought full circle to Stampede Wrestling. August 1997 - Summerslam with Owen Hart vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin for the Intercontinental Championship at the Meadowlands arena at Secaucus, NJ and the rest they say is history. October 1997 - Brian Pillman's untimely passing. November 1997 - Bret Hart's final match in WWF.

As a Canadian, I loved this era of Bret. He was a hero around the world and a heel in the US because he told the truth and said what the vast majority of us were thinking about our southern neighbours. His promos in 1997 were fantastic.

America has always been rebellious. From the moment the Minutemen grabbed a musket, to the moment Stone Cold yelled Austin 3:16. Steve Austin embodies the take-no-prisoners attitude that won two world wars, sent us to the moon, and revolutionized the world with a light bulb. We don’t care what the rest of the world thinks. We do it our way and to 🤬 with anyone who thinks otherwise. That’s why American wrestling fans love Stone Cold Steve Austin.

It was super obvious when they pulled the plug on the Hart Foundation - once HBK came back in the lead up to SummerSlam - Bret was basically a lame duck champion afterwards with Taker and HBK main eventing until Survivor Series.

I honestly wish that Bret just stopped doing interviews. All he does is whine and cry about the past. He thinks he’s wrestlings all time legend and he’s not. He was the $400,000 a year champ who believed he was actually a champion. Time to move on, Bret! Is Goldberg’s kick rattling your brain?

Well, nobody is forcing you to listen to his interviews. Just ignore them and let the rest of us enjoy them. And yes, Goldberg's kick is rattling his brain, actually. It's called having post-concussion syndrome and a stroke, which is a form of brain damage. Let's hope that doesn't happen to you.
