Out of all of the comments I've seen for years from people that always talk about why they hate Imagine Dragons your comment C G42 goes right to the heart of it. I don't dislike Imagine Dragons. I like some of their songs so I had to figure it out on my own what's the real reason they get so much hate. After thinking about it a lot I guessed that it had to be that they get so much exposure being called "Rock" but their sound doesn't sound very Rock. Again, I don't dislike them but I can see how it would bother a lot of hardcore Rock fans in an era where Rock music in the U.S. has pretty much fallen out of the mainstream.

I have to agree with him on douchey pop bands with metal sounding names. The first time I ever heard of the band Vampire Weekend, the dj on the radio said "Coming up, the newest from Vampire Weekend!" and I thought "Vampire Weekend? Oh awesome! I bet it's all dark and gothic like NIN or Type - O Negative!" And it turned out to be just god-awful tween pop music. And I am also pissed at the teen fashion industry for the way it stole skulls from punks and metalheads. For years, that was our way of setting ourselves apart from the beautiful people. Now the beautiful people are fucking wearing them on pink glittery bags and shit.
