Here's a little something that no one knows about. The SOUND of the car actually came from a SUPERCHARGED B series that was in a CRX. The owner of that CRX is Greg Leone (he still has the car to this day). The car is actually seen alot in the movie, it's RHD, blue, with white graphics. So you're welcome.

They wanted to emphasize the car's disintegration process as Brian was flooring the shit out of his car. He also used nitrous which helped the car to break down quicker. The movie doesn't show it but Brian just glued the floor back after the race.

1:07 I friend of mine had an NA Eclipse with a turbo kit added. Adding turbos to NA cars isn't new. So, while I didn't pay close attention to the under hood shot, but it's entirely possible the car had a turbo and associated bov.

The car in the movie was a turboed US spec GS (420a engine),so the author of the video is wrong.Also this car is also factory turbo GST and AWD GSX model so...not so accured video

I wanna say that the eclipse was a RS trim model because RS doesn't come with a sunroof and has rear drum brakes..in the beginning of the movie where Brian lost control of the car for no reason, you can see the rear drum brakes.

I believe the car was a 97-99 eclipse due to the circle reverse lights that are located on the side corners of the bumper, the 95-96 had a different style of reverse lights that were located by the rear license plate.

The headlights we're also different between the early (95-96) and later (97-99) third gen Eclipses. there's also the front bumper/fog light design which differed between the two.

It was the gs from inside the car you can see the sunroof under the roof scoop mod. Just the rear wiper was removed and hole filled. Saw the exact car that someone bought in another video.

I had a 1996 Eagle talon tsi in electric blue. Ended up pushing 22lbs of boost with a front mount intercooler off a starion. I had a greddy type-s blow off valve that sounded insane. Of course this was before Google and KZbin so I blew my transmission all over road.

But I just feel like very few cars and widebody kits look good, especially when you can tell you cut out pieces of fenders and bolted them on, I like kits that are made to look like it came that way from the factory

Because the first movie was a low budget movie and they probably didn't think anyone outside a hand full of people would know the difference. Hell the actor who played Jesse said in a recent interview that he didn't even think anyone would watch the movie.

Ah yes the car that got me into the Eclipse line. Granted I wanted a second gen way up until I discovered the fourth gen in Most Wanted 2005. I wound up buying a fully loaded one of those with the V6 and the manual transmission. Super fun car. Still doesn't mean I don't want a second gen too.

The reverse lights were on a 97 I had the 96 and the reverse light were closer to the license plate and we're not round. They were more trianglish if that's even a word. And I had the RS that did not come with a tachometer or a radio and did not have power windows.

You can even see the long tube header that was equipped during the pre-race scene when they inspect the engine. No turbo log manifold there. And being as I tuned during this era, I can tell you that there was no support for tubular turbo manifolds for the 4g63T during that time

From my understanding the hero car was initially supposed to be an eclipse GSX which was an all wheel drive turbo variation of the eclipse. but ultimately they ended up with a GS-T, which was an a front wheel drive turbo model.

It was a 95 RS eclipse. As it had NO power windows & no sunroof. For the HERO. There were 2 stunt cars too. Which have more screen time than any other version Eclipse. You can tell them by heavy tinted windows. Cheers 🥂

@@TheRacingJoker Yeah i think Honda's engine is more preferred since the original sound in the movie comes from a CRX. I listened to a lot of Hondas here on KZbin but haven't yet found any Honda that has that unique engine tone from the movie. I think it's a hard question but if you find something valid i will be very thankful!
