@@RobertWickens I am a big fan of you! Even still! I hope you continue improving health! I am sorry for what you went through. I am looking into getting handicap hand controls, can not use my legs, I have not found the right one or a good price for the technology.

Hey Rob, I know you've already gotten a lot of nice words and such but I'd be disappointed if I didn't say something too. You're an amazing person and you've changed the way I live my day to day life. Thank you for being amazing on and off the track.

This video was inspiring and informative. I have to admit that I was getting emotional as I'm so desperately wanting you to succeed and that you are happy with whatever direction life takes you or you take it. I particularly like that you can use your name and popularity to communicate with others that may be looking for solutions of their own and that you are always striving to improve. From Richmond Hill, Ontario Robert, thank you Ron

Awesome video Robert, I can relate to some of the things you mentioned. Like how you move your body during a race and when you spoke about using your hands back from side to side for your throttle. I am a upper limb amputee, (below elbow (r) and steering/shifting is my toughest part of the race. You have full use of your hands but limited use of your feet? This makes racing difficult, every control is with your hands. You are a huge inspiration for everyone and for folks with disabilities it is such a great inspiration seeing what a person can do, rather then what they can't do. You have such a great attitude Robert and that is such a positive thing for folks with disabilities to see. I have a good friend who is a quadriplegic and he has very little function of his hands and whenever I'm feeling sorry for myself, I think of my friend who also has a positive outlook. Thank you for this video and a great rig as well.

11:20 Episode 1 and your little co star has already made an appearance! Really thorough talk thru all the aspects of the adjustments made. A real education from a top bloke. Whilst I have no set up or race much online I do wonder about your thoughts on the throttle and what you are looking for. Sure you looked into it but have you checked out what Alex Zanardi used on his outings in the Z4 and M6? Think he had a ring behind the steering wheel that he pulled for acceleration. Watched in car avidly when he did the Spa 24 hours in 2015 and the documentary based on his run there. Looking forward to seeing more of you on this channel. Nice one.

You're telling me that we can get a company to actively develop a break pedal solution customized to him but nobody can get him a 3090? Like I know there is a GPU shortage but if I could I'd make it happen for this inspiration of a man.

Awesome job Robert!! I'm a paraplegic as well and started sim racing this year too after having to do research as to what was available that would allow me not just to drive, but be somewhat competitive.. I drive exactly like you now, using the clutch paddles on my Precision Sim Engineering wheel to accelerate and a Heusinkveld handbrake reversed to brake :D I like that you covered the other issues we have to deal with, like the cushions for our heals and bottom... same deal here, I just use a all gel cushion made by Jay or one of the mobilty companies.. Hopefully will get to be on track with you at some stage! :)

Hey Robert, great insight into the sim setup! Got me thinking about it. I'd imagine that a Dual Axis Steering wheel would be ideal for the brake. I.e. Telescopic steering column with load cell that you push forward to brake. Same as the way Mercedes F1 use it for Toe, but instead for the Brake Pressure. Talk is cheap... i know haha. All the best, glad that you can still enjoy cutting laps : )

He races WRC, Dakar, and many more things. It would be awesome to see you two connect at some point. Keep it up 🙌🏽

@robert try angling that brake away from you. It seems straight-forward (perpendicular to the sim rails), but that isn't great for human geometry. How about 15 degrees (toe) out? I think this will be better for shoulder comfort. Very curious to know if you have tried a different angle.
