You don’t need to remover several gears just the one with the black oring around it(bottom gear in 4:33) after that put petroleum jelly on the other gears to lubricant them, after that it won’t make any noise and it won’t auto eject like most units eventually do

Some helpful advice. I use mine in an old.school boom box and it kept popping the tape and making the music stop when it was on just the "play" tape button. So, I hit the play button and pause button at the same time and now it does not pop or stop anymore.

Hi , do you have to remove those small gear completed out to make it it more clear ? I hear that people apply lithium white grease on it and make it smoother sound

I haven't tried white lithium - probably some worth trying before removing the gears. The adapter has been working fine for two years and counting without the gears.

Some cassette tape players would detect if there was an actually cassette in the machine. The gears are basically a way to fool the cassette player to continue moving rather than ejecting the tape.

It works in a boom box, so it will probably work in a walkman.

I’ve bought a Bluetooth one before from Walmart and the audio was coming from only one side. I’d assume this one is a much better alternative? I’m currently using a wired adapter with a lightning dongle for my phone. Works fine but eventually the cord wears out and the side cuts out. But also how’s the sound quality? I like my bass turned up a bit. Any crackling or other audio quality issues?

⁠@@ape_man504 it never happened (I never bought it because it was out of stock at my local Walmart and I got upset and bought something else so I got back into using my long lost iFrogz again because it’s hard to buy these things sorry 😢 Update: my local Walmart restocked and I eventually bought it and a new Walkman cassette player because my Byron statics blew its battery fuse and I bought it and an new Nintendo switch case with pikachu and another character from Pokémon and other items including my minor dinner because I ran out of food temporarily but I’ll be back at the grocery store tomorrow and anyways, happy new year 2024 and goodbye 2023 and I now have the Bluetooth cassette adapter and a new working Walkman cassette player for 2024 and eventually, things went back to normal for 2024 Anyways, Happy New Year 2024

I put this in a 1983 car stereo and it keeps toggling through play or auto rewind. I tried removing some gears I saw in youtube video but no change. No idea what mechanical trigger the car stereo is interpreting means "end of tape" to start the auto rewind.

I bought one of these for my '98 RL but after a while the cassette player kept trying to flip the cassette or something and it did it so much that I couldn't even listen to any music. It could have just been the cassette player in my car, although actual cassettes worked just fine for me. Someone who I work with ended up by giving me a cheap Bluetooth transmitter and I felt like it worked a lot better, although I think it just comes down to personal preference.

Bought and fm transmitter but it has static while when using a wired cassette adapter there’s no static. Will it be the same for the Bluetooth cassette?

I haven't had any static issues with the Aluratek adapter in my car - sound is very clear. I can't say for sure that you won't have issues when using it with your devices.

If your brake lights are not working, I would start by checking the fuse in the under-hood fuse box; it should be fuse 2 (Stop-Horn) on the 2002 RL. The same fuse is number 39 on earlier models. I mention 39 because you could have a wiring problem or a brake pedal switch issue, so the wiring diagrams I've stored online should come in handy, but they mention fuse 39. @@carapprentice I tried all the ways you mentioned and still no result! I purchased a new break light switch and I'm having a problem in the break light failure sensor now! Do you have any ideas what should I do?

@@abdulelah5320 The brake light failure sensors are located on the tail lights. If both brake lights are not working, I would suspect a more systemic failure such as wiring, bad ground, or a fuse, but it's possible both sensors are no longer working.
