Apology: The doorbell I showed and demoed in this video is not compatible. I thought it wasn't working because the account I was using signed out of the eufy Security app and so I faked the scene (gasp!) and failed to fully test its compatibility. Can you set custom length and cut the cords to use the extensions? Or it's you have to measure perfectly and use the extensions when on string ends only?

Hey Brett, what if i wanted to light different areas of my house? Like my roof and above my garage, which are not linked (three level house for example). How can i separate the set into two different lights? Can i buy a separate controller and power supply? Thanks

I would make them static colors not color shifting or pulsing. It gives me nostalgic memories of motels back in the 60's that would have colored light bulbs outside their rooms and around their properties. Back then you had never saw that before and it was really cool !

It is not Matter compatible. It works through the eufy life app but I don't see the integration specifically say the E22 is supported. www.home-assistant.io/integrations/eufylife_ble/

Struggling to make a decision on these versus the GOVEE original - similar in price today since it is Prime day. I like the white lighting on these but like the additional lighting options that Govee has - for example the curtain lights. Is there a clear winner in your opinion.

The point you brought up is a good reason to get Govee as it integrates with other Govee Products. Make sure you are looking at the Lights 2 as those are more comparable to the E22 in the video. But the E22 has a wider range of white colors.

3 Things to keep in mind when installing Lighting 1: Be considerate of your neighbors, set a brightness that is less likely to be a bother but still bright enough for what you want. 2: Power usage, some lighting may only add a few dollars to your monthly bill, others may be more than a few, Brightness and how often they are on of course playing a part in that. 3: As a bonus, you could power your lights with a small inexpensive 600VA 300w UPS (or higher depending on how much power the lights use). Helpful during a power outage with the added benefit of surge protection.

These are fabulous. That price does seem steep but when you consider the price of a regular string of permanent outdoor lights, it is fairly in line with what it costs to put a product outdoors that will last through the weather. I looks fairly intensive in terms of installation time and effort, but if it saved me from putting up Christmas lights and taking them down yearly, then it might come out even.

The Govee app has a few more customizations but compared to the Lights 2 these have more options in warm white options but the overall color is similar.

The lighting profile is very similar to the new lights 2 but these do get a little more warm and white. eufy does have better integration with eufy cameras and Govee will work better with Govee products and does have music sync integration.

These are really nice, but I'm i huge fan of led strips in aluminum channel, less light, but a massive gain over these for animations and effects. Also,my channel and strips are pretty stealth, I absolutely hate the look of lamp cord all over my house.

Whats the max length that can be installed? is it possible to link up to 300 ft?

The max length for these are 150ft. You would need 2 100 ft kits and then 2 50ft extension kits. Then you need to program them each individually to turn on to a similar pattern.

Can i ask what doorbell camera you have as my lights dont detect humans and shine as quick as yours did then. It takes a good 20 to 30 seconds to detect a human

So I fibbed a little as I found out this doorbell camera wasn't supported. I fully tested again with the SoloCam S340 and it took about 4 seconds to turn on the lights after it had detected me.

Yep! You can create a schedule for every month to automatically display a preset color option.

@@TechWithBrett Thank Brett, I have Eufy 2k doorbell and installed E22, and when I add it into Wonderlink, it gives an error that "Camera device not found." Do you have any video for that setup with the Eufy security app and Eufy security integration?

I have the first gen. lights and I can tell you that the App is buggy as hell. As of today it still needs a lot of work. Govee is a much better option in my opinion.

I’d hope that people using these aren’t using any animation unless it’s a holiday day, what an annoyance it must be to have your window facing the stupid animations. I am a big fan of Eufy, installed 6 on two properties so far.

In the app they have the white options without animations as the daily lighting which I think looks really nice year round. Yes, be cautious of neighbors and they definitely don't need to stay on all night either.
