Wise words about appreciating heavy music. People who's never had a really tough phase or maybe had it but never tried to bury the pain and anger in this type of music will never understand how liberating listening to metal can be.

Completely agree, for me it was two phases in my life, in my teenage years only Amy Lee was really capable of replicating my inner broken heart and fears into both words and emotions through her voice, much later it was Katatonia (incredibly underrated band anyway)

Dude Alex, seriously... watching your evolution of "hip-hop head" to "I listen to everything now head"... it's been a wild and fun ride thus far. I love your videos man. I'm always going through shit, but it's been a while since I've felt like I couldn't trust myself. The last time, I was fortunate to have a new relationship where someone genuinely cared about me, enough to convince me to go to the hospital. Been together 12 years now, also been in therapy for about the same time. Far from fixed, but I'm not as broken

I was also the same way, when I was young, I only listened to hip hop, but then as I got older, I started listening to bands like Falling in reverse, bring me the horizon, and red hot chilli peppers. It's like I was able to expand my taste because I could relate to more type of music since I had more life experience.

I’ve been in bad places mentally before which ended up in being taken to hospital. What I’ve learnt is to be open about those experiences because it can help other people to know that they aren’t alone, and to not feel ashamed of anything they are going through. It was a mistake I made and it took a suicide attempt for me to be forced to get help. I live with the scars but they have made me a better person and I will always be here to listen to anyone who is going through a tough time. Much love to you all ❤

I'm so curious about the inspiration for this song, because I got so many vibes of like late 90s early 2000s metal and rock music. I didn't even catch the Papa Roach line, but the lyrics and screams (especially the "when I'm gone" scream) remind me so much of Linkin Park, and then the line "there's something in the way" just made me think of Nirvana. then I also got huge The Diary Of Jane by Breaking Benjamin vibes from this song too. either way it just feels like a blast from the past and it's incredible! as for advice for those at their lowest, live for your future self. I know that doesn't sound great if you don't like yourself and don't think you will have a future, but what has helped me is knowing that my future self is a completely different person than who I am right now. maybe I don't feel like I deserve to move forward, but for whoever I become in the future, we both deserve to see how far I can go. life is constantly evolving and changing, some days are heavier than others, but there will come a time where living isn't scary or exhausting. also in general, something that helped me was just appreciating small details. if you're really into music or art, dive deep into the details and appreciate the beauty. like nature? go for a walk and sit in the grass, or look up pictures of nature landscapes and notice every detail. there is beauty in everything and sometimes checking into that can make you feel even slightly better. anyways, long comment, thanks for reading. glad Alex reacted to this, as soon as I listened to it I was so eager to see the reaction for it! have a good day everyone!

One of the best ways to cope with a situation you can't control is to act in a way that you can control. That includes listening to a familiar and meaningful song, as well as focusing on breathing, doing some sort of exercise, or reaching out to a stable, dependable person if you have one. Thanks for being there for your family of fans Alex!

3 weeks ago I lost my dad. The day that he left us is when I found this song. I remember driving listening to normal music that I listen to breaking Benjamin. Ice nine kills the normal stuff and my release radar on my Spotify came on with this song. None of my normal music was taking away the hurt but somehow this song did. My dad was my safe place. I miss him every day and the way Alex explains this is perfect because I can openly say that I know of at least 15 songs that have probably saved my life over my 31 years on this earth

My first introduction to music was pop but it didn’t feel right and then a school friend introduced me to Iron Maiden and W.A.S.P and that was it I found my musical home. I stopped trying to be like everyone else so I could be accepted and just became myself, dressed in band t-shirts, bought a jacket and covered it in patches and tried to grow my hair long. Sure I was different to most people now but I didn’t care as I was being true to myself and it just felt right as the music spoke to me, I’ve been through dark times and occasionally still go through them but Metal has always helped me through. Now I listen to bands that most people have never heard of and my family only know about them from me talking about them but I like that. I guess what I’m trying to say is don’t try and be like everyone else just to fit in, be true to yourself and find your own path in life and then everything will hopefully fall into place🤘

Im a huge metal fan, I’ve been through so many dark places in my life and I’m only 23, but one song in particular that bring me the horizon feature on is the sigrid song… the lyric “it’s just a bad day, not a bad life” if you replay that song over and over, you’re gonna be weeping, but the relief you’ll feel after… it’ll be one of the best nights sleep you’ll ever have. Remember in Stuart little when the dad talks about silver linings? You can’t always see them, but they’re around, sometimes it just takes that deep out of courage you’ve got buried deep inside, but tomorrow is always a new day. Count your little victories, like brushing your teeth, getting out of bed, taking a shower, having a meal. The little victories often rival the huge accomplishments and you should always be proud of the fact you’ve gotten through another day. You make your own happiness, so if no one’s told you. Im proud of you ❤

I know what is like to go through a heart-wrenching time when you feel like life is not worth living. When I was in middle school I was bullied relentlessly and the teachers, the principal, and my parents tried everything to make it stop and kept on going through high school until I ended up falling over the edge and became depressed, suicidal, and angry and I was so angry that there was a part of me that wanted to go after the people that tortured me in school and kill them but every time I thought or even dreamed about it I was scared shitless of myself of who I mite become if I gave in but I kept fighting and in the end, i got the help that i need and moved on in the end life is hard and we all need to keep fight no mater what and as for the video I didn't hear any Linkin Park vides except that when he said over and over. and with that being said the song and video reaction was f-ing awesome keep it up

my best piece of advice is, to talk to someone you might not have talked to before because of social status, friend groups, or just to hear someone else youve never really talked to before. Ask them about their day and whats going on with them. its an easy way to see perspective from someone else, and a large majority of the time, theyll ask you the same and its an easy way to let things of your chest and ive found a lot of wisdom and perspective about life in general from hearing other peoples stories, and it helps to let that shit out to someone who you might never see again. Moral of the story, let that shit out, if they think ur weird, fuck em. if they empathize, you've just got a friend to talk to. win win.

My mom just passed in February and I never expected to lose her so soon in my life. I have hit some pretty dark spirals and I could relate so deeply to say goodbye because maybe I won’t miss me when I am gone. Life has been mentally and physically difficult for so long that I may just breathe a sigh of relief to not have to fight against the distrust of myself and ease into the trust of my broken self to end the pain. The dark side is always there as a mercy in an ableist society that makes getting the help you need akin to climbing Mount Everest. If you fight enough. If you advocate enough. If you say enough of the right words over and over again. Maybe you get help, maybe you get medical trauma. It is kinda 50/50 being a Black, Disabled woman alone. It is exhausting and I wouldn’t miss me because I would be with all those family members I miss that passed on. It is so fucking crazy emotional and my heart only knows brokenness. “Broken Home” By Three Days Grace is amazing

I honestly dont know how to get back to being happy. Getting an undiagnosed health issue a few years back still suffering loosing my job had to sell my house and cars and everything i loved lost my savings and then my fiance left me when i had nothing left. I seem to never be able to fully stand back uo after getting knocked down no matter what i do or try its been 4 years of suddering and not 1 thing working out for me. But music and my humor and my family is about all that i hold onto in my worse moments. I know some people cant seem to find things to hold on to but for you all just dont let the peooke you love down. Thats all i got i suffer everyday and i dont see anything getting better but i just cant let the few peopke i have left down and hurt them by giving up. Doesnt seem worth it 99% of the time and question when is enough enough but only time will tell. God bless you all going threw stuff just know your not alone

My best advice is : There's always tomorrow and if you keep that in mind then there is always hope because you don't know what will happen tomorrow. The time will always tick whether you're having anxiety or you're stressed or if you're hurt, time can make amends for the hurt in your life or it can make your life better if you're stressed out. If you're in school : Again there's always tomorrow, the bullies you deal with may end up be your friend later in life or may not even remember you. Conclusion: The outcome of what is to come is never set in stone and you can always change it depending on how you respond to situations.

I'm a huge fan of metal and while I'm in some bad irl situations, I've never been suicidal or anything. I have some frustrations that are somewhat lessened by the music but for the most part it just appeals to me more than rap, pop, country, etc. If I like the way something sounds, I'll listen to it, unless it says something I just completely disagree with.

Hello, I would like you to react to Hybrid Theory, the Linkin Park tribute band. They are Portuguese like me, I went to see the concert and cried a lot 😥

dem this song hit hard man , and for the mental health part it is really been a journey up until this point that idk if it is meant to be this way or should i expect a light or should i accept this as fate or the way of living for me , more like being numb to everything , i try to stay optimistic as much as i can but everyday if yk you yk how you have to drag yourself through every minute , among every ppl . ppl ppl everywhere not a single one to talk to . I try my best to channel all my darkness to some creativity and hoping to do it till my last breath. That's what gives me purpose to stay alive . but its always soo easy to slip off .

Eventually I just decided that not being able to trust myself tonight is just how I am now. I have lived with SI as a daily thought process for about 8 years now. This kind of music helps to calm the demons so I can go to sleep instead of doing something dumb.
