As a christian in sweden I would say most of us laughed with the rest of the people, at least in my circle. Then we got the conservative Christians that 17 years later think this is such a big deal that everyone should know what happened the 21:th of november 2007, when SVT "humiliated" Jesus 😆

I laugh at her video the same way I do this Grotesco clip.

@@Ortos5 As a Swedish atheist, we like our Christians for the most part, there are two kinds, people like you and fucking arseholes (which actually goes for everyone regardless of religion or lack there of). I do think you'll agree on that too. I worked for a man for 7 years and when he invited me to Pesach I did not mind, nor do I mind if you say you'll pray for me. It's just that those things do things for you, not me. If you want to help me (this is the royal me, not me in particular, I have far more than any human could need) then do that instead. If we could go back to 1988 on all this shit in law we'd both get our wish. (or prayer heard, in your case)

In Sweden in the 70s 80s and 90s, they showed a LOT of British humour on Swedish television. Fawlty Towers, Mr Bean, Benny Hill, Blackadder aso so I guess we sort of learned a lot of humpur from you guys. Or maybe British humour just suited us to begin with.

Swedes definitely are very open-minded and positive about that particular activity. In Finnish sketch series that activity is portrayed in a much more negative fashion-if at all-and on top of it's portrayed as something that originates from Sweden: "Vemparen - Finland edition (Ihmebantu)". The only person who speaks about it with some level of openness is a Finnish-Swede comedian, and not even he is praising it: "André Wickström. Stand-Up Comedy in English. The Finnish Winter War vs.". The correct response is probably somewhere between.

Baptists churches are rare, so most Christian Swedews where like "lol, Baptists are nuts". I saw one comment from someone who said that he grew up being part of a Baptist church, and he said that this was like a perfect representation. I once accidentally ended up in a sermon the day after partying on a Saturday (with a sleep over), dressed in silly student union clothes and hung over (as one easily gets). I went in to the wrong part of the Church. Was going to go and see a friends choir performance in the youth quarters of the same building. It was one of the dumbest shit i have ever done. I couldn't leave early because it was so embarrassing, but they appeared to be pretty neat compared to what I have heard about Baptists in America. A lot of amen and hallelujah. The theme was honey, which was yellow. So they where all told to put their hands on someone who was dressed in yellow. I was dressed completely in yellow and black XD. It was a nice experience. Something I would never have experienced if not for it being an accident. The people sitting next to me probably realized that I was in the wrong place and smiled gently. :)

We do this to honour the god Frey every Friday who penetrated the earth and impregnated the soill with his seed to make it fertile again and bring an end to the eternal finbullwinter. Every year at midsummer we raise a pole covered in leafs with two balls to symbolize his penis and then we dance around it all night singing songs in his honour while bumping in to eachother. Be gratefull to Frey because without him the ice age would have never ended! He sacrificed his seed for us to sleep with mother earth who was made out of a slained giant.

Cant name one person I know of that is Christian. I see some muslims outside sometimes but thats it. There may be some more Christians out in the countryside. So the whole premise of this (presumed) legend, is that a group of guys do the deed as described, and glace the bun. Then one of the poor guys has to eat it. This comedy group is a lot of fun but they lack the one thing that is the mark of greatness in their field: provoking current hegemony and main lines of thought. Instead they are kicking the people who are already on the outskirts of society (yes strong christian identity has been long ridiculed in sweden). Monthy python did the opposite - they made fun of christianity when it still was very powerful in the uk. They made a difference. If Grotesco (the people are still very, very active) wanted to be great they would do this type of comedy about islam. (Islam is still not modernized and humanized which is desperately needed.) But they are too irrelevant and power hugging to do that. They will be quickly forgotten. Monty python not.
@Johannes132111 ай бұрын
You do know this act is very old right? Also, making this kind of satirical work of Islam in sweden now would be a huge mistake and would probably not end well for them.
