My friend’s daughter almost got car jacked in a Starbucks line yesterday. Someone was running from the police and tried to drag her out of the car, and a Good Samaritan in the car behind her jumped out and tackled the guy and held him down until the cops got there. Had he not done that, there’s no telling what would have happened to his daughter .

Old school back a while there was a SC highway trooper wrestling with a driver failing to comply trying to grab his gun then a young man in overalls pulls his classic restored truck over jumps out and grabs and holds him in a way that looked like he was lifting a bale of hay and subdued him so the cop could regain his senses and arrested him and he said ‘that citizen will be getting a citation for his actions’ featured on realstories of the highway patrol or cops but anyway it was amazing

Most people aren't stupid enough to attack a cop over a speeding ticket, especially when everyone knows they've radioed in your car's license plates before they even get out of their vehicles, so 99% of the time she would've been safe enough alone. As a former volunteer firefighter and reserve police officer, any time I see an officer with someone stopped, I always slow down and make sure the officer or officers are ok and don’t need help. I have stopped twice over the last 6 or 7 years to assist an officer. One was a Highway Patrol Officer who was on the ground fighting with the suspect trying to take the officer’s handgun. I ended up drawing my own own weapon and held the guy at gun point until the suspect after the officer got his cuffs on the guy. We smelled like Taco Bell from all the ‘Pepper Spray”. It ended up the guy had a loaded gun in the back of his pants; was a convicted felon on probation with felony warrants for assault & battery with intent and when officers later searched his former girlfriend’s home, she was found deceased from multiple gunshot wounds. The second time I assisted was when a solo officer was following in the dirt with a drunk driver trying to take him into custody. The officer held the perp while I cuffed the guy and stayed until another officer was able to get there to take over. Fortunately the guy pleaded out and earned a summer getaway in a 5 Star Texas Jail for DUI, Resisting, Assault of a Peace Officer; driving without a license, no insurance and on and on.. It was his fourth or fifth DUI or some insane number. (I filled out a report but didn’t bother to press charges.) I did get a shoulder patch (I collect them) and a department ball cap. I see it as, those officers are someone”s son or daughter, husband or wife or some child”s daddy. I would like to think any decent person would be willing to do the right thing when someone is in need especially someone trying to protect my family, friends, home etc.. Keep making the great videos! Stay safe!!

She did call for backup. She informed dispatch that the driver has stepped out of his vehicle. That's why the other police car arrived so quickly. They weren't responding to a citizen's 911 call, but to that officer's call to dispatch. Anytime a driver steps out without orders that's seen as sign of an imminent attack on the officer, which is why she informed dispatch.

You bring up an excellent point Kabir. That's the raging debate. Should a woman be able to serve as a Police Officer. Now I'm on the side of, if she's physically capable of performing her duties. Then absolutely. However, you are absolutely right. Men on the whole, are going to be more physically capable than a woman. Which ultimately, leads to the deployment of non-physical means of neutralization. Either the taser, or in some cases the firearm. The latter should definitely be the last resort. That being said, I think that officers should be rolling with partners at all times. No one should be out there patrolling alone. But due to some budget constraints, or size of the department. That's just not possible. Be safe out there.

Many of the civilians who got involved most likely had either had been a victim previously, have a family member who was, or served in our military. Or maybe some are just fed up with crime. I do agree that most police officers should not ride alone. It's probably due to budget issues, but it certainly wasn't the policy when I was younger. I also think all police officers should be required to pass a physical fitness test quarterly. An interesting video. But, all of yours usually are.

The last video of the older man helping the officer, I thought he was going to have his dog help the officer. Like one of those police dogs. The young man (in Venice, CA, I live fairly close to this event) who intentionally hit the woman and the baby stroller with the stolen truck, yes 5 months is too low for attempted murder (2 counts/lives). The minimum should have been at the very least, 5 years in juvenile hall and released when he turned 21 years. Especially, this was not an accident, he was aiming for her and ran. I feel someone like that needed to do even more years, after he did his time in juvenile hall then put into adult prison to finish his prison term. Our city's attorney general, if he was harder on most of our criminals, and gave that teenager some more time, maybe he would be alive today and learned a lesson in jail (changed his behavior) before he was released into society. I heard once the woman interviewed, she was moving out of Venice because of her safety, the elements that live/hang out there and probably L.A. is too easy on the criminals' law and punishment. The last three years, crime has gone up, it was always there in Venice, but the nearby sections of L.A. maybe due to our homeless, illegals, the lack of police and respect for them and lack of arresting and punishing the criminal. As long as you do not steal more than $900, today, crime does pay. As for the female officer, they should give her a male partner. Even a male officer should have a partner. One to talk to the criminal and the other to oversee if anyone is doing something else. Unfortunately, it is hard to judge the climate on the beliefs of Woman's Rights. Some female officers might get offended that a woman can do the same job as a man. For those women, maybe extra self-defense courses to help her protect herself in a situation when the criminal is twice as big as her and will not follow instructions. Maybe the taser should had been used when the man got out of his car (against her orders) and went to get his license in the back seat. It is possible the criminal could tussle with the female officer and take her gun. Even male officers have had that happen and be shot/killed with his own gun. Unfortunately, with our lack (and respect) of people who rather not enter the military, police and fire departments, standards in physical and academic is lowered and then we might not get the best and strongest person to fill the job. Also, through the years, the police would get in trouble using certain force against the criminal who did wrong and does not follow the rules and sue the city for injuries and charges dropped. Then the city takes away certain tactics that might harm the criminal, even though the criminal did not follow orders or resisted arrest. I believe, once the criminal does not follow rules, resist arrest, causes harm to himself and others, all the rules should be thrown out the window (but not kill the person).

Clearly, the male officers had exactly the same trouble if they were alone. NO officer, male or female should be out alone.

No she should not have gone in without somebody else it’s the rule of twos and police are supposed to be a force multiplier not an equal equal fighting force you want to have more guns and better guns than your opponents. She should’ve had a partner with her as well so that police station might be understaffed.

The first lady cop needlessly escalated the situation. All she had to do was play it cool instead of needing to be in charge barking orders. It's possible the scuffle still happens but it's also possible it could be avoided and if nothing else you buy time for backup to get on scene at which point the dude knows he's outnumbered and maybe thinks twice before misbehaving.

I'm a retired female police officer of 21 years. I was 21 when I became an officer. There are men who overpower men too. That's life. FEMALE OFFICERS DON'T NEED CHAPERONES TO DO THEIR JOBS. If she needs assistance, she'll request it. Granted, I'm six foot, black and was 150 lbs back then. 😅 Sometimes, it was my mere physical presence that pissed people off. I thought ni**er was my middle name. 😆 I was never in a physical altercation though. I wonder why...🤔

Because you did not do something stupid like shoving the man against the car! That was aggressive of the lady in the first clip! How would she feel if her dad had been shoved against his vehicle? He could have been badly hurt or killed that way. All she needed to do was get his license and registration if needed. He had his Drivers license ready for her, but she was more interested in making him sit down on the grass or dirty curb! I’ve been pulled over for speeding, but was never told to sit down. He was just speeding! The last cop handled it well. He was very professional.

@@noraa1991 My Dad was 6'4" and 160 pounds in his later years of life (and when he was a teen / early 20's when he played basketball), and sure he was thin, but his doctors didn't consider him dangerously underweight. For a woman, 150 should be fine.
