I have been running Windows Defender along with ESSET online scan for several years without any issues. The nice thing about ESSET is, that after you do your first online scan, it will give you the option to automatically run the scan online once a month But I like the idea of making Windows Defender even better, so thank you for this video

I used to use ESET Online Scammer but the software has a bug in it that if one tries to run it on a new system the app crashes when it is getting updates. I have seen it on several systems I was working on. Eset has known about it since April 2024

Thanks for the info!!! I had used AVG's suite for years, along with MalWare Bytes. Since my Windows 11 Pro clean install a few months ago, I'm only using Windows Defender. I still use AVG Tune up (and Secure VPN at times), but disable the registry cleaner part. I still scan with the free version of MalWare Bytes at least weekly. The best defense, as you point out, is using common sense and vigilance! Sure going to try out this program, though!

I'm sorry if you've said thos before, but do you prefer this or DefenderUI? I actually didn't know ConfigureDefender was still being updated. A simplewall video would be nice!! :) Edit: It seems the two can co-exist just fine. Any changes made in ConfigureDefender will also be reflected in DefenderUI. Everyone please note that setting CD on Max will disable the Windows Security Center altogether, so keep that in mind and don't be scared when Windows Security shows up blank.

MS defender on anything other than the MAX configuration is worthless. Don't use configure defender any other way. always put it on the MAX setting. Microsoft is really lenient about the things they whitelist, so it may miss a lot of stuff even if you do it like that.

"contact windows support" time wasting you need to first decide if you really need Win11 (do you want to upgrade from Win10 or older OS?) and if you really want to, look at the full requirements list If your system is not fully compatible, it's still sometimes possible to install Win11

If you are using MBR, then you need MBR2GPT to convert to GPT so that you can run UEFI (no CSM) and secure boot. If you have an older graphics card that does not support UEFI, than you will need to replace that (or load a UEFI capable BIOS - I converted a R9 290 to UEFI by finding a matching UEFI capable BIOS - and that the kind of age when there was a mix of support)

@@ТоварищКамрадовСоциалистКоммун Could I switch it back to Legacy if it doesn't work?
@ТоварищКамрадовСоциалистКоммунАй бұрын
@@wtre7 it's difficult to make a good suggestion if you don't describe as much details as possible. First you need to figure out if your system is compatible. if not, what exactly isn't. Then you should decide if it's OK for you to run not a fully compatible system. Take into account that it may require a new installation. So before you make any switch you need to gather info. Just switching will probably do nothing cause if you are in a legacy mode you probably don't even have a UEFI partition

@dingokidneysАй бұрын
You'll likely need to do a clean install of your system as UEFI requires an EFI partition on your disk while you probably don't have space available if you are using legacy mode. It should be possible to switch to UEFI, boot up, see it doesn't work then switch back to legacy and have the system work. Then again, some systems do unpredictable things so there's a remote possibility that you could hose your system by doing this. If your system runs fine in legacy mode, I wouldn't play around with it unless you actually want to do a clean install and/or need to support storage that can't be handled in MBR/DOS partitions.
