That's a perfect dessert to start off summer! Berries of the season and cream, basically topped with sugar! 😄 I do love ice cream a lot in the summer, but you can never go wrong with berries, especially fresh and ripe ones! 🍓🫐

This looked absolutely delicious! I love Eton Mess and Pavlovas... similar delicious creations with cream and meringues and BERRIES!!! I think berries are one of the best things about summer. And I am sorry to admit this, but berries are much nicer in EU/UK than they are in the US. Happy to be here this summer 😋

Das ist ja witzig. Ich kenne dieses Rezept mit Banane. Meine Großmutter (eine waschechte Italienerin) hat das sehr oft gemacht als ich klein war. Und sie war nie in Eton 😂

Adding ice cream and/ or fresh cream sounds delicious! :) Well, I know the basics about cricket, but I haven't tried it myself. I've also never seen anyone play it here in Bavaria (people here are all about football, most of them support FC Bayern München). ;)

@@MissAnglophilia I would be surprised to see cricket played in Bavaria!! They play it in Holland. When UK Forces were based in northern Germany, I would guess there was cricket played in Germany then. The summer test matches (5 day games) start on the 3rd June. England are playing New Zealand.

I was really surprised to hear that, but on the other hand Bavaria is quite big and nowadays it's easier to connect with people who have similar interests. So why not play Bavarian cricket! ;) Still, I believe it's rather a "niche". :)

@@MissAnglophilia I would guess most of the players are either Brits, Indians, Aussies etc living in Germany. Countries part of the Commenwealth nations. Germans can play as well though!! I'm sure they would be quite welcome. The good thing about cricket is that you stop the game half way through to drink tea and eat sandwiches, puddings and fruit.

Well isn't that something, I had no idea just how easy it was to make meringue!! I am not sure if I have heard of Eton Mess before, I probably did, but I left England in 1987 so if I was aware of it I am afraid that memory has now gone. However, part 2, making a mess. That is something that I can do with any food items 🤣 Now I am going to have to do some research to see if Eton Mess has something to do with the origins of a Parfait, I have a feeling that it might. Okay, I just paused the video to see if they were connected but it doesn't appear so. However, both the Eton Mess (1893) and the Parfait (1892) arrived almost at the same time, so I have a feeling that they are correlated in some way.
