Coyotes are *smart!* That's why they'd be a successful invasive species. The Largemouth bass is a fun fish to catch, and taste better than a lot of freshwater fish. Gators can get huge! They can grow longer than a golf cart. --Dan

Red foxes are quite adorable. When i was riding a 4wheeler in the woods as a kid, maybe 10 or 11 yrs old, i saw one run around a round boulder so i followed. Next thing i know it was behind me. So i turned around and chased again, but it caught me. We played tag for probably 15 minutes, and i even got off of the quad to play on foot. I returned to that spot frequently but never saw it again, sadly. It was the most fun i ever had with a wild animal.

Irvine, California here, the coyotes really don’t tend to bother with humans, it’s lone pets that have to worry. I see coyotes all the time here and they’ve never once even acted aggressive let alone made me worry for my safety. That said, Irvine has tons of rabbits and squirrels and such, so the coyotes aren’t exactly starving here.

Amateur wildlife photographer here (South Carolina Lowcountry) and I've seen (and photographed) hundreds of gators. They are quite impressive. Deaths are rare and usually happen to people who disrespect them and their habitat (especially when mama gator is protecting her babies). Once I encountered a man from New York attempting to touch a gator's tail to impress his girlfriend. Really stupid...

If you had raccoons in your area, you'd know it. They are extremely common in the US, and they are very annoying. They get into houses, knock over garbage cans, attack small pets, etc. I've lived in Providence, RI, for almost five years, and we have a significant coyote problem here. I live in the middle of downtown, and I've seen at least seven in the courtyard outside my apartment.

Thee bigger problem with coyotes is that they breed very well and have large litters so some packs can have more than 30 members. They can be devastating when they move in on ranches like during lambing season. They are scavengers but do hunt well together. The Bass are an excellent fish and taste great. They don't have an oily strong flavor more like a nice white fish. The alligators can be a problem. We have a few in the pond on the back side of our property. Thankfully they don't seem too interested in climbing our fence to get to our pets, but we do keep an eye out just in case.

Beesleys, what you saw at 1:20 were mountain goats; at 1:39 was a wolverine; at 2:06 was a bobcat; prairie dogs are at 3:18. It's weird to see the coyote without his nemesis, the roadrunner (think Warner Bros. cartoons). Sadly, as beautiful as the state is, Hawaii no longer has any native bird species due to the house cats which were brought over by mainland Americans, and other immigrants as pets.

Some Shakespeare fan got the bright idea to release some of your starlings in Central Park around 230 years ago and now those buggers are all over the US. They kick other birds out of their nests, carry diseases, and cause hundreds of millions of dollars of damage to crops. So you can have them back if you can manage it.

The range of the Alligator has spread as far north as Maryland. The dog breed best suited for coyotes and wolves is the Great Pyranees. In fact breeders of this dog do so for sheep farmers. So get one, and you won't have to worry about wild canines. And I would bet they would be a deterrent to black bears. The negative is they are one, or at best two, person dogs, so not all that friendly to strangers.

I live in Arizona USA and coyotes can be very dangerous to small children or smaller pets. They can easily jump a 6 foot fence and grab your dog and then vanish even if you are in the yard at the same time since their attack is so fast. They are not scared of humans, just cautious.

Coyotes are so smart. They are the only " American caines" Orgins are in the State of New Mexico. The moderm grey wolf migrated to north america. When Dire wolves and saber tooth tigers roamed, the coyote was there. Some people have even raised them as pets, to go so far to say as few stated it was the best"dog" they ever had. In urban areas coyotes have been known to wait at intersections waiting to cross the street only when the light turns green. That is how smart they are. In portland Oregon a few years back one was a frequent light rail rider, he would hop on the train to get where he wanted to go. In native American lore the coyote is know as the trickster, able to out smart man and other animals.

They may be good for the natural ecosystem but are bad for anything to do with humans other than the positives they may have for the natural ecosystem
