Just so everybody knows, Xi’an was the capital city of ancient China in over 13 Dynasties. The most ancient city in China, which made the construction of the metro system extremely troublesome, like every metro line they built pops up several ancient tomb or some historical relic😂😂😂

Westerners can travel in China with 3 young daughters without any worry of dangerous or facing any racist discrimination. This is how civilized this country and the Chinese are. I have met a young couple in Thailand recently. They were from US and flow to Singapore and they were traveling from Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and then to Cambodia and Vietnam and before going back to US. We have happened to have a casual friendly conversation and I have asked them since they are so near to China, why not go to China just for a few days to see China. I told them China is very interesting. But I was surprised of what they told me. They said according to all their media reports in US and advice by their government and many other people. They were advice and told not to travel to China. Even their parents don't allow them to go to China. They were told China is not a safe country to travel. Very dirty, poor rundown infrastructures, poor transportation system, polluted, homeless people are everywhere waiting to rob tourists are common even in broad daylight. Chances of been detained for no reason by the Communist government is very high. Because China is an authoritarian state and all foreign visitors are monitored by thousands of cameras everywhere and every minute where foreign visitors go. Foreign visitors from western countries can be detained for months or even years for no reason. All these is what they know about China. The couple is like below 25 years of age and already so badly brainwashed by their government and controlled media. This is really sad.

I am Chinese, but I've never been to Xi'an. Actually, I've only traveled to two provinces in China. I am so envious of you foreigners who have visited different regions in China. For real, after leaving my motherland for 13 years, I miss it a lot. Because of COVID and work, I haven't been back for 6 years. Each time I return, I am shocked, speachless for the change. Not only cleaner roads, new buildings, EV cars, cashless lifestyle, amazing phone apps, well educated new generation, But also villages have changed a lot in recent years which travelers often overlook as they focus on big cities. We still have so many problems to solve for sure, but I cannot keep up with the speed of development. How the Chinese government supports its people, and how people think and help the poor amazes me. The speed of development and the way people think continually surprises me
