A rost- of any sort- with all the trimmings is something to treasure. It strikes me as being something that has fallen by the wayside to an extent- at least here in Australia. Give the stem from the sprouts to your chooks, if you have them. They will love it and peck it down to nothing in next to no time. I grew up in the 1960s and 70s. Vegetables were either done on the tray with the meat in the oven, in shallow oil in a frypan, or boiled. And boiled to within an inch of their lives plus another couple of minutes. Sprouts and cabbage made the whole house smell like someone had bad gas. Brussell sprouts and cauliflower were usually served with white sauce and nutmeg. I'd love to see a whole series on roasts.

Thanks Uncle. This is part 2 in our British Roast series. We’ve got a few more bits to go of course but wanted to share my veg tips. Hope you enjoy whilst avoiding some of that heavy Aussie summer heat.

Liz, Yes Chef! They all looked amazing, thanks for sharing, educating, entertaining and for slipping in (pun intended) a few double-entendres 🤣! 🙂😋😎❤

I love Liz Haigh- I honestly do not know why she makes me laugh- her delivery is so flat but honestly its a compliment because it comes off dry and genuine

First time I’ve seen someone cut out the centre of parsnips! Will try that myself next time I cook them, as the family don’t like them just roasted. 👍❤️

Looking forward to try those parsnips!!😍 Have made the rest plenty of times (although never have i added chestnuts to the sprouts, usually use mushrooms, but will try it aswell!!)

Hi, these look delicious. May I ask if you are using Celsius or Farenheit for oven temperatures?
@AuntieLiz5 ай бұрын
Hey thank you, yes they are staples in our house for roast dinners. We use Celsius over here. Cheers

Did you hear? Uncle Roger just produced a diss track about Jamie Oliver. I think the same needs to be done for him! Vegetables do NOT "taste like sad", Your roasting Maillard skills must be bad...,
