I’m happy that people are finally realizing everything Britney has gone through. However, as someone who has been her fan since she began her music career, it’s frustrating that it took so long for it to happen. Britney was treated with such disgusting behavior and standards since day one. She’s such a nice person though that she took all the crap and just kept doing what she loved, so people kept treating her like crap. It’s so refreshing to see people finally see her side and understand why so many things happened the way they did.

I could not recommend this book more. The humor and light that Britney is still able to bring in telling such a horrific life story is remarkable. One thing is certain about Britney Spears, she is notorious for being a very kind, funny and accepting human, always has been. And this is one thing that has never changed. I find that to be incredible given all the people who have treated her like an object since she was a small child. This woman had every chance (and right) to damage so many people in this book and she always takes the high road. How she is able to give so much grace to everyone around her is so inspiring. We all know how little grace Britney has been given her ENTIRE life. This book is just magnificent. Britney Spears is admirable.

@@thedarkknight105I understand what you’re saying. I think her shaving her head was like a door opening between professional and personal and definitely created a shift in how the public views celebrities. People put them up on a pedestal to be perfect or treat them like products instead of people and I think that incident made some people think, wow they are people just like me. Celebrities used to be notoriously private too and you didn’t really know their struggles until maybe a memoir came out whereas as now, yeah we may not know everything about a celebrity but they are much more forthcoming in addressing mental issues, cancelling concerts for exhaustion, anxiety and depression. I can’t recall that happening much prior to that Britney moment.

You're absolutely right about the Circus tour era. I went to one of the show from this tour I got VIP tickets for free and at the end of the show I told my friend: I didn't feel she enjoyed being on stage. She wasn't giving her all because I've always thought she was a great dancer but the whole show looked like a circus and not actually at her image. Way too much was going on. Her dancers were just lifting her up and all she had to do was being pretty. My feelings were right and it's just sad.

I am the biggest Britney fan… I discovered her at the age of 4 and have have been there every step of the way. This was a tough read… because from my perspective it was a chick pushing boundaries and being the sweetie at the whole time.. from the media she was a she-devil who wanted to corrupt the youth of America. No, she is a chick making music she thinks her peer would like (rightfully so she was number 1 for years). Media and none fans destroyed her and contributed to the fuel that got her into the conservatorship… I hope everyone reads this book, she owns her faults and behaviors and described what she went through

When Britney Spears shaved her head in 2007, she instantly became the butt of jokes and casual cruelty. Late-night talk show hosts excoriated her. People on then-nascent social media platforms laughed at her. Even respected journalists used her as a punchline. Spears never provided a real explanation for her choice (not that she owed one to anyone). But with her much-anticipated memoir The Woman in Me, which comes out Tuesday, Spears finally seizes back her own narrative-and also takes control of a troubling narrative about mental health that has plagued women like Spears who rose to fame early and were punished by the media when they stepped outside predetermined boundaries.

I do remember seeing the videos back in the day and how everyone was ravishing and laughing at the "fallen star gone crazy". I was not a fan of her so I did not really know what went on with her. but now after her accounting of that incident and watching the video again, I do see the look in her eyes. she just had enough. she was blowing up. like anyone who's overworked or burned out would. it's just that for her it's a more magnified because as a celebrity, you don't really live like a human being, more like an animal zoo or something. so now I see it was not because she was "crazy" in the sense that some people say it is ... more like over-over-burned out. I have been burned out from my past job myself that I quit and didn't work for months ... in private and surrounded by people who love and care for me. imagine being in her situation. it's a miracle that girl is still alive.

I'm glad these ladies understand someone is telling their story. She names persons who were horrible to her. Again, this is her story and experience, and she has every right to share it. I wonder why, when Jada told her story, this group had a problem? It is women whom the public has decided their narrative, and they both reveal their truth. It would have been refreshing to hear the same understanding. I waited for this video, and you guys responded as expected.

Jada is a narcissist, we know too much about Will and Jada, and because Jada is dishonest it is clouding her ability to convey her traumas. I don't doubt she had a tough life before celebrity but I don't believe anything she says because of the way she is treating Will. They have an open marriage and then they're separated in 2016 because of the 'entanglement'. Every year she goes out of her way to make Will feel like dust. Every Year! You can see it in her mannerisms, in every appearance for an awards show. Gosh the Hoda Kotb interview where Jada "finally landed the plane" talking in circles. What Britney went through, what Mariah Carey went through with their respective families using them and being hurt by men, the families conspiring to use them for money, being forced to take medications against their will...shall I go on? There are many races of Britney fans commenting here.

You can say that now, hindsight being 20/20 but people should always try to be better towards each other. Reminds me of that song about the bubble headed bleach blond, talking about the plane crash with a gleam in her eyes.

I think No one truly has a right to judge This is teaching us about assault this is a type of assault on her life And at this time mental health is labeled and not set up as well as 2023 evolving because for survivors of abuse it really needs to be about Empowerment education and taking back rights How many men shoot don’t go to prison how many women defending themselves from abusive partner spend rest of their life in prison We need more justice and our justice system To keep our communities safer

It's a pity Whoopie and the rest of the table didn't extend the same grace towards Prince Harry and his memoir. They were outright judgemental without even reading it. Everyone deserves to be afforded such curtesy when they open up about their story.

I'm heartbroken to learn all the new information about JT. It's sad to know how he berated her in the media for so many years and what he did to Janet Jackson too. Even though she gave him grace, I can no longer support Justin or NSYNC. We all believed him. He may have been young, but he knew exactly what he was doing. Team Britney.

BOO!🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅 to the ladies of The View. Where was the "grace" for Jada when she told HER story? Why weren't you all "less judgmental"? I have nothing against Brittany; But you can't help but notice the difference in the way a white woman and an African American woman get treated.
