In this USA travel vlog, our American road trip adventures continue! We picked up our NEW campervan from Travellers Autobarn and give you guys the grand tour before heading out to try some Californian fish tacos from East Beach Tacos, where Alex gives an honest food review of his Taco trio. Following lunch, we made our way to a 'secret' beach where we could soak in the sunshine and watch the surfers. After the beach, we drove into Santa Barbara city centre where we visited the Santa Barbara County Courthouse - a beautiful Spanish Colonial style building built in the 1920s, with incredible views of the city.

⭐ About Travel Beans:
Welcome to the official Travel Beans KZbin channel! On this channel, you’ll find a variety of travel and vlog content, in which you’ll see us in places like Thailand, Japan, USA, Slovenia, and more.
In 2017 we left home with just £500 in our bank account and a dream to make a sustainable travel lifestyle happen! We are now living our dream as digital nomads and want to inspire you to create your own story, whatever it may be!
After 5 years of aimless, yet enjoyable, backpacking around the world we found ourselves in New York City battling with depression. At this point, we decided to go home and confront this problem head-on. After 6 tough months at home we decided to go away again, but this time with a goal in mind.. to turn travel into a lifestyle.
Our time spent battling depression has influenced our outlook on life dramatically! We are now traveling the world in search of what makes us happy. In our vlogs, we talk openly and honestly about our travel experiences, the digital nomad life and depression. We hope our videos can help to inspire you to create a life that makes you happy!

When Covid is over, I highly recommend a springtime exploration of the Carolina Mountains and Lowcountry. Three towns all within a few hours of each other that you have to see in the springtime are: Asheville, North Carolina (wayyyy up in the highest mountains of the Eastern US covered in thick beautiful forest), Charleston, South Carolina (one of the most historic towns in America with stunning 19th century architecture and, spanish moss dripping from the treest, etc), and then follow the coast down to Savannah Georgia for a 2nd dose of Lowcountry surroundings. Charleston and Savannah have some of the best (and most original) cuisine in America, the streets are magical and feel almost like a French village or maybe like New Orleans 50 years ago, and the Carolina mountains surrounding Asheville might be the most verdant green mountains I've ever seen with tons of waterfalls, flowers, and huge rhododendron bushes covering the mountains in purple and white if you time it right. An Time the trip for mid May, and you won't be disappointed. That's after the mountains are abloom, but before the coast is sweltering hot. Cheers!

The entire drive up the pacific coast was spectacular and we finished our trip off with hump back whale watching from Monterrey.

I live here and have for the last 42 years, would never leave...all of our parking lots in downtown, and the beaches are "first 90 minutes free" after that it's 2.50 per hour to park. You were in a neighborhood that you were lucky to find a spot to park, but there usually is. Those steps here are called "1000 steps" for the local's, I have run them many times :) . We have many many of the little "free library's" that you ran across, they are all over town and very successful at getting people to read, exchange books and no ones steals them, they take them, and then usually return them when done and with a couple of book donations themselves. If you go down to the wharf, Pete the pelican lives on it and a great photo opportunity!! During the summers, at the courthouse we have "free" movie night on Fridays and everyone brings chairs or blankets in the middle of the courtyard at the courthouse and watch movies outdoors. The locals love it as well as the tourists.

By the way, I think you guys walked right by the Beach Boys’ compound at around 9 min 45 secs. It’s up on the Mesa - that’s where you were - and it looked like their houses. Also here’s a little hint - come back to SB for Fiesta Week (aka Old Spanish Days). It’s always the first week of August. It’s fantastic - there’s a great horse parade and every night they have flamenco and traditional Mexican dancing in the sunken garden at the Courthouse. And of course fiesta-ing all day and night on State Street.

In addition to great photography, videography and music I imagine that you spend a lot of time adding proper narration to your videos too. Well let me just give top marks for your effort. As you know we American love to hear visitors say nice things about our country. Perhaps that is the case in all countries but I think we are particularly sensitive. Alex is unapologeticly honest about what he feels and thinks. So I take his criticisms seriously even though he may not always intend it to be taken seriously. He has a gift. Aw thanks so much! Haha yes, of course, I think most people like to hear nice things about their country and people enjoying their country.. but we do also think it's really important to remain honest as too many people gloss over the parts of travel that are not absolutely perfect.. and I think that can give people the wrong impression of a place and set them up for disappointment if they too decide to travel to that place. Plus, Alex's rants make me laugh so much 😂 Thank you so much for all of your kind comments.. we both really appreciate it and hope we can continue to make content you enjoy! 🙌😁

I'm kind of watching these episodes backwards. It's amusing to watch how you have acclimated to the U.S. "Tack-os" here vs. "Tock-os" today, etc. I have friends from all over the world, that have become U.S. citizens, but I've never had the pleasure of witnessing their actual 'naturalization' (not the legal term but the term of adaptation.) Then again, that may have happened so slowly that it may have passed unnoticed...

It’s not that we don’t like to share. It’s that some of us don’t want the government sharing our money for us. 😁
@WhatDayIsItTrumpDay
@WhatDayIsItTrumpDay 4 жыл бұрын
OK...2 things... 1) Tacos...it's a Spanish/Hispanic word so you say with the Spanish prnouniciation rules. An "a" has an "Ahh" or even an soft "o" sound. So Tacos are pronounced TAH-Cose, not Tack-os. 2) Americans don't share. Well that depends on what you mean by sharing. In general yes, people have a certain disposition in holding their personal possessions privately, BUT for things like the books you saw, or tools, people will generally share those. They may expect them back or they may not. I would say for the books, they wouldn't because they probably read them already and have no need to keep them, but for tools, yeah, they definitely would want them back. But in general for your typical American attitude, we are the most generous nation on Earth. What do I mean my that? Well, it means that Americans will more than likely donate their time (volunteer work) and/or money to organizations/charities they believe in than anybody else in the world. Now why is that? Well, here's where it gets a little political. Because of the independent nature of America, where we all sort of distrust the government in some way or another, we will get up and do it ourselves, rather than wait for the government to help or rescue us. For example, in times of floods and hurricanes, there is a loose organization called the Cajun Navy who are just private boat owners down South that will hook up their boats and drive to wherever they are needed to help flood victims. It's really cool to see. In that massive hurricane that hit Houston a few years so that caused massive flooding, they were there helping people. They didn't get paid for it, they just do it to help their fellow man in times of need.

My brother got married at that courthouse, in that mural room. I do not understand why people think that's a good wedding venue. Sure nice building. Terrible wedding venue.

Those tiny free libraries (really book exchanges), are popping up everywhere. They are being built by people who want to encourage literacy. I know of 5 in my neighborhood, not affluent.

That's actually a huge dream of ours.. to own our very own campervan. Think we'll have to test out a few more models before we decide which one to go for though..

Just stating my observation, but your views on the United States are a bit disrespectful. We share. We have beautiful architecture. We are nice people. I wouldn’t dare go to England and make assumptions about its people based on a few people I’ve met from there.

Funny how you say the “a” in tacos, but Americans say “a” like you would in tomatoes.

My typing got messed up. I meant to say it’s funny how Britts say tacos and how Americans say it. You would think it would be the other way around.
