Your a breath of fresh air! I’ve learned so much watching your videos. I like that you keep it real but with a gentle approach when it comes to homeschooling. I’m homeschooling my two boys this year and we’re excited… ❤

Yay! We are on our rest week as well. Loving the updates on Oak Meadow and saving my coins for May '24 to be able to be able to purchase it after your "end year review". I am so glad Brielle is year ahead of us so you can warn the mommas.

Congratulations on getting through your first term back. I hope you thoroughly enjoy your week break! I would love to see a video on how you are planning for your next term. I just love these updates. You make me want to document my own homeschool journey with my little ones, It must be so wonderful to have these videos to look back on.

Yes yes yes. I was really hoping to make it through a twelve week term before we took a break - but we too hit that seventh week and this mama just needed a break! Why do we always forget how much effort homeschooling takes?? Enjoy your week off! I know we are ❤ Thanks for sharing mama!

Thank you for making Oak Meadow look interesting and worthwhile. I've looked at it so many times, but wasn't drawn to it. I like how it sounds for science and might take a closer look at that.

Such a lovely update. Glad you're having a good start. One thing we've noticed from OM is it's incredibly developmentally appropriate. The writing in the upper levels is very rigorous. Enjoy OM. It's a beautiful curriculum

I have a 7th grader and I'm struggling with the fact that school is taking him longer. I have 5th graders that finish at lunch time, but my 7th grader doesn't finish until around 2:30. My 7th grader hates to write, so I'm thinking of trying Structure and Style sometime this year. We are only on day 7 of our year and he's had tears about writing assignments.

How do you pick out good books? I try to keep everything modest and religious so would love to know how you filter out books.

Peace Brittany! I've been watching your videos for a while, and this video was right on time for me! This is my 5th year homeschooling. I currently have two in homeschool - 6th and 11th grade, and I have a 22 year old and 20 month old, as well 😅. Thanks so much for the writing curriculum info! We are currently in our 2nd full week of school. 💜

I commented earlier about the video you posted of questions and answer, because I started watching and had to stop and then when I came back the video was gone. I don’t know if I didn’t post my comment or if it was delete for some reason. Just asking without any malice.

We are using CC Ancient History this year too. We also love the audiobook! We are enjoying working on the timeline. The timeline images in CC were tiny but I found another resource online that has larger images and we are creating our timeline with those in a School Nest book. I love that your daughter has been creating some fun artwork!

How ur daughter get score i mean do she do online test or something else actually i don't know about test and examination every year in homeschool
@brittanyolga
@brittanyolga Жыл бұрын
We do standardized testing every year. That is how I know her specific levels , strengths and weaknesses. Most standardized tests in homeschool can be done at home with an online proctor. It is very simple and stress free.

Don’t stress yourself out about this cycles of history. To be honest they aren’t really a thing in other countries. For example in Germany where I went to school, history as an independent subject starts in grade 5 or 6 and is mostly chronological starting out with the Egyptians, classical Antiquity and stops somewhere between 1945 and 1990 in grade 10. While instruction in 11 and 12 grade is more topic focused. I never understood the benefit of going over something multiple times with different levels of difficulty. It sounds quite stupid because you risk that the kids are learning simplified half-truths, that they have to unlearn later.

@@brittanyolga You are welcome 😊 Don’t stress yourself as long as you give your kids the opportunity to go after the things they are interested in you are fine. I myself probably was my mom’s nightmare sometimes because I wanted all the history books from the library, asked about everything and often asked for more work. And I am really greatful that she offered all this learning opportunities to me.
