Beautiful, delicate performance of this lovely song! P.S. Dimash doesn’t speak Japanese and this is his first time singing in it - yet he’s been complimented by Japanese native speakers for his wonderful pronunciation and delivery. The languages he speaks fluently are his mother tongue, Kazakh, and Russian; he speaks passable English (although he sometimes struggles to express himself completely) and from what I understand, his Mandarin is rudimentary (Dimash himself has said he finds it too hard!). However, he’s extremely skilled in learning songs phonetically and has performed in at least 13 languages so far ..

Kōji Tamaki is a Japanese singer-songwriter of Ikanaide and Dimash performed a previous version in Chinese called Autumn strong kzbin.info/www/bejne/fIm0ZmuLYqqXmsk this song is based in a true story about Yoshiko Yamaguchi who was born in China, hid her japanese heritage under a chinese name, became very loved. After WWII, her heritage was exposed, she was arrested, accused of being a japanese spy, and sentenced to death. She was ultimately cleared of charges, but was advised to leave the country, as she risked being lynched. Dimash is a master of the story-telling, his voice makes you feel deep emotions and takes you there where that song happened. Beautiful!! A Japanese reactor mentioned that his softness with the hard consonants is a function of how well Dimash understands and has learned the mechanics (tongue and jaw placement) of the Japanese language. It's something very difficult for native English speakers to do. ❤️🎤🔝🔝🌹🌹👏👏👏

He is singing in Japanese here. He is fluent in Kazak (his native language) and Russian. He is fair in English but I am sure he will improve in his English this year while he will be living in NY studying Film Directing. I have heard him sing in English, Kazak, Russian, Ukranian, Mandarin, French, Italian, Japanese and no doubt other languages. He has just completed his Doctoral studies and Doctoral thesis. not sure if he has been awarded his official degree yet. His grandmother (Mama) raised him to be fluent in Kazak and Russian. in Kazakhstan, they have a tradition that the oldest son is given to the grandparents to be raised with them the first 10 years. Dimash was the first born, so he was raised by his paternal grandparents while his parents were traveling as entertainers in Kazakhstan. He was raised in the old ways. To this day, he calls his grandparents who raised him Mama and Papa. He is very close to his entire family and friends of his family. He has two siblings, Rashun his younger sister and Mansur his much younger brother. His sister is in pre-med or possibly in medical school now and Mansur is writing music. He is so stunningly great in so many areas.

Dimash sang Ikanaide (live and for the first time in Japanese) on the Tokyo Jazz Festival in 2021. Because of the pandemic, the annual Tokyo Jazz Festival took place online again. Filmmakers verify that the videos have not been edited and manipulated, so the singer sings live. In 2020 Dimash also participated in the famous annual Tokyo Online Festival with 2 songs: * S.O.S. - kzbin.info/www/bejne/jZWuinelprB_hpo * Samaltau - kzbin.info/www/bejne/mXbcfayBjJKajbs The original Japanese version Ikanaide/ Please Don’t Go (composed 1989) is by Koji Tamaki, *1958, Japanese songwriter. The sad true story... very touching: It is about Yoshiko Yamaguchi (*1920-2014), a Chinese-born Japanese actress during World War II. She hid her Japanese heritage under the name Li XIanglan and became famous in China. However, when the war was over and she revealed her identity, she was accused of being a spy. She was deported to Japan and longed for China. Ms. Yamaguchi did not return to China until many years as deputy environment minister in the Japanese parliament. The song is a metaphor as the lyrics speak of how a person should hide what they are feeling. Koji Tamaki sent a wonderful message to Dimash, thanking him, and praising him for singing his song in Japanese. Vbloggers, they reacted to the original by Koji Tamaki, they are mesmerized and can't stop listening to him. He wrote many wonderful melodies - you should check it out: Koji Tamaki 2021, Ikanaide - kzbin.info/www/bejne/haHKn4BogsiWebM In 1993, Jacky Cheung (*1961, singer and actor in Hongkong) adapted the song into Chinese Mandarin, calling it Late Autumn: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mqWwY3ipnK13aa8 The Chinese (Autuumn Strong) and Japanese (Ikanaide/ Please, Don’t Go) versions have completely different lyrics and meanings… and of course Dimash sings both very differently. Both are based on a same true story. The Chinese version shows the image of leaves dancing in the autumn wind as a metaphor for how fate affected Yoshiko Yamaguchi's life. ...sad but inevitable and irrevocably The Japanese version does not want to accept the loss, is full of pain, pleads, suffers ... heartbreaking. I'm totally mesmerized by how sensitively Dimash differentiates and conveys to the listener the feelings of sadness and loneliness in the Chinese version and loss and pain in the Japanese version. Even his whispers and his breath are music... it breaks my heart and the tears flow... and at the end everyone suddenly holds their breath, we hear Dimash breathing, then a deep and comforting hum. I've never heard anything like it from a singer in my entire life. Only Dimash can do that. This is true mastery. * The most famous interpretation In China (first performance at the Singer 2017) was that of Dimash Qudaibergen and it was his first time to sing in Chinese mandarin: Autuumn Strong - kzbin.info/www/bejne/gZ7MY5aMns-Xg9E This song brought Dimash the 'Best Foreign Singer' award at the Golden Melody Award 2017 (equivalent to the Grammy) in Hong Kong. * Great performance (Chinese version) of Dimash from Kiev 11.03.2020, the last concert before Corona paralyzed everything: Autumn Strong - kzbin.info/www/bejne/amSaenipea6NnKc * Other version of Dimash: In Moscow on March, 2019 - Autumn Strong - kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y5bag2t4pMhlZ6s

He has sung in thirteen languages. Kazakh, Russian, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Chinese, Serbian, Turkish, Ukrainian, Kyrgyz, English and Japanese. This one is Japanese. He did say last year he's working on an Arabic song. He fluently speaks Kazakh and Russian. He moderately speaks English and knows a few phrases in Mandarin (its a hard language to learn, but he still tries to learn it). And his English should get better soon as he was accepted into the NY Film Academy for directing. LA Branch. He has directed one of his own MVs already. Qairan Elim

Contrary to other comments Dimash only speaks two languages fluently, his native language and Russian. Although he sings beautifully in Mandarin, he struggles to speak it (but learning). Singing in English is sometimes hit and miss depending on the song. Although he is somewhat conversational in English, it's still a work in progress. The language he is singing in here is Japanese, and according to other Japanese speaking reactors it's very good.

The Japanese composer said paraphrasing Dimash more than any native singer portrayed the song in emotion and timbre best and he was proud of his performance. The Japanese people have great respect for Dimash. I cannot think of any Western singer who would even attempt this. He is the GOAT. Dimash is so confident in his ability to emotionally capture any song in another language, he is beyond compare. Britt, good reaction. Is there anyway you can get the sound better... it sound so "tinny"?

Dimash is so talented and magical. ❤ I keep a playlist of all his songs that are available to the public and what language they are in. He has sung up to 13 languages now but only speaks 3. He's fluent in Kazakh and Russian and can hold conversations in English. When he was in China, he started learning Mandarin but he said it was too hard so he started using English to communicate instead. 1. English 2. French 3. Italian 4. Japanese 5. Kazakh 6. Krgyz 7. Mandarin 8. Mongolian 9. Russian 10. Serbian 11. Spanish 12. Turkish 13. Ukrainian Some Dears like to exaggerate the # of languages he actually sings in but it's really not needed. His actual accomplishments are already phenomenal.

Ikanaide is Japanese. There’s a Chinese version he also performed. It’s titled “Autumn Strong” I think it’s better. I’m not sure if it’s just a translated version of Ikanaide or a completely different song. But it’s the same melody.
@bejewel4669 Жыл бұрын
🤗 it's a completely different song. Ikanaide is the original and has nothing to do with Autumn Strong which was written by a Chinese poet as the theme song of a docudrama of the Chinese born actress of Japanese decent. Autumn Strong is a beautiful haunting sad song lamenting fate and the end of a life and career through exile. Ikanaide is a heartfelt plea to a loved one not to leave. Both use the same melody but with different feelings. Dimash sings each song perfectly as each one has different emotions. Gorgeous as only Dimash can do it. Love both.

As mentioned earlier by others, he sings in 15 languages and is pretty fluent in 4 of those languages and very fluent in Russian and obviously in Kasakh. Other reactors seem particularly impressed with his pronunciation and interpretation in Japanese of this song including the Japanese writer and original artist that made it a hit. Other reactors seem particularly impressed with his Italian as well. When you get a chance try " Passione", the link is kzbin.info/www/bejne/boLXepKcpbl8rsU. Another would be his live performance of "Ti Amo Cosi", that he sings along side Lara Fabian and Aida Garifullina, the link is kzbin.info/www/bejne/jpK0d5mneJifpLc , both are really good.

Please correct the title. It's Ikanaide The song is about Yoshiko Yamaguchi, a Chinese-born Japanese actress during World War II. She hid her Japanese heritage under the name Li XIanglan. She became famous in China. However, once the war was over and she revealed her identity, she was accused of being a spy and she was deported back to Japan and didn't go back to China for many years, as it was forbidden at that time. Ms Yamaguchi did return to China in her later years as the Japanese Parliamentary Vice Minister of Environment. This song is saying goodbye to her Chinese name Li Xianglan. The song is a metaphor, as lyrics speak of how a person has to hide what feels inside.

Dimash has so much content and even in his songs he has versions because he makes changes to keep it fresh along with his voice maturing. Example I typically reference three versions of SOS there are many others but I think these three offer an excellent view of the changes as well as his voice maturity. These are the one that really launched him from the singer competition in China, SOS Slavic Bazaar, and SOS 2021 New Wave. All are wonderful and different. And again his portfolio of material has grown substantially, if I were to advise someone that had never heard him before I would say watch every series of the singer then work forward to current. It offers the best view of how this guy was considered the best, yet continued to improve on what many did not think could be improved, in fact Dimash is his own competitor.
