You need to also hear "Walkin' To New Orleans", "Blueberry Hill", and "Ain't That A Shame". I grew up listening to Fats Domino, and his music is so amazing! Great reaction! ❤

Saw him walking down the street in Raleigh NC...back in about '68! I waved and he waved back!! He was there for a concert, I was on my lunch break!

You should check out the GOAT, Hank Williams Sr. who wrote and recorded the original version of this song, and 100's of others. So many great songs. I would check out "Hey Good Lookin", "Move it On Over", Honky Tonk Blues" and "Your Cheating Heart" just to name a few. Hank was in my opinion, the greatest American songwriter of the past century (Lennon & McCartney are favorites overall, but of course, they're from England). Love Fats immensely too, but you should react to some of his original songs, like "Blue Monday", "Ain't That A Shame", and "I'm Walkin'"...That's a good start. Peace

I wish you could have seen Fats live. He was amazing, so much energy and passion, and he made it appear so effortless. Never had more fun at a concert than the two times I saw Fats in the 80s.

In the 70's, my parents' only had AM radio. My dad listened to big band, and polkas. My mom liked 50's rock, (she was 8 years younger). I remember a time when Fats Domino was my favorite, when he came on the radio. This was WAY before any videos, but the joy in his voice makes his songs special... even when other covers of the same song are out there...

Fats in the early 50's and late 40's did piano blues. Him and his band had fun with that also. No matter what he was playing he was always smiling, he loved that the audience enjoyed his music so much.

I’ve been wishing for years for a reactor to react to the “fats and friends“ video of Fats, Ray Charles, and Jerry Lee Lewis doing a medley of this song and a couple others. I did enjoy this one too. Another great reaction.

It shows you how influential was in music; this his song, but he was influential in country, rock, and should/blues. Hence why he was the king of country and then some.

Britt: The saxophone virtuoso is not your usual Fats Domino. His music is much simpler. I saw him with his band in April 1967 at the Saville Theatre in London. The dozen or so musicians barely played more than a few notes each but put it all together and it was mesmerising. More typical is "I'm In Love Again" (1956) kzbin.info/www/bejne/bJuoh4iKpMtnmLc When in the USA on business (from the UK) I convinced my boss that I needed to visit New Orleans. There was no business reason for me to be there but he knew how much I wanted to see the studio where Fats, Little Richard, Lloyd Price et al recorded those 1950s hits that he arranged his local rep to show me around. In the end I took a week's vacation and chilled. BTW, the studio had been turned into a laundromat 😆 Meanwhile, you must listen to Hank Williams Sr.'s original of Jambalaya (1952) kzbin.info/www/bejne/gnfQd2aApcd8nNE

First of all, I think you had way too much fun here. Lol. The song was originally by Hank Williams Sr, around 1949. Fats Domino did a great freestyle version here. Williams probably would have enjoyed it. Unfortunately he died very young. Great reaction as always.

Fats Domino was fabulous. This was Elvis's favorite entertainer and this is who Elvis calls the King of Rock N Roll. They loved each other and remained dear friends until the day Elvis died. Fats continued to pay respect until the day he passed.

I’ve heard this 3 times today and really would like to have jambalaya tonight. New Orleans is so cool, I couldn’t live there I’d weigh 400 lbs. walking the streets at night you can hear even kind of music on the streets, restaurants, and bars. The principal and band director of a nearby school don’t mind the kids being there to learn and practice but they better have their homework done for tomorrow and be at home before 10 pm

Your reactions are always very entertaining, Britt. I was familiar with this song from Creedence Clearwater Revival. Instead of doing a bunch of research, I should've just read the comments to learn it was a country song written by Hank Williams! (Well, now I know.) I love living in the 2020's & being able to hear music from so many different eras.
