Seeking Asylum in the US to Escape Trans Discrimination | Latin-X

When you're transgender and latinx, life as a double minority often means living with a target on your back. For many facing extreme violence and discrimination in their home countries, migration to the United States represents a chance to redeem their identity and live life free from persecution.
But upon arriving in the US, instead, trans migrants often find a dangerous life plagued by the threat of detention and continued discrimination. Broadly goes to Arizona and Los Angeles to meet one of the most vulnerable populations in America, and the trans women already living in the US working hard to create sanctuary for them.

This is absolutely insane. how is it 2019 and people are still being treated like garbage, discarded bc if who they are and locked up just for being who they want to be. Idgaf who you are, how you wanna live, as long as the person isn't harming children, murdering or doing some horrible criminal acts then we should be helping and supporting any human that needs help and support. it totally makes me sick to my stomach that just bc we don't understand or don't like how another lives their lives, that we can do fucked up shit to that person or just push them to a gutter. it's not right. I know that no one wouldn't want their mother, brother, grandparent, sister, brother, son or daughter, cousin, aunt or uncle to ever be locked away for no reason, to be killed bc someone didn't like how they looked, to beat the shit out of someone bc they weren't understood, treated like they are less then human bc they weren't "liked as a person"... if you don't want that to happen to your family, loved ones or self... then you have no right to do it to the next person. it's absolutely fucking disgusting that the ones who think it's okay to do such things and are able to sleep at night after doing such things. I pray for these women and men and all who come after bc at the end of the day your heart beats just like everyone else's and you bleed just like everyone else and they deserve to be treated with love, respect and support. I am so sorry that it's 2019 and people still have to suffer and fight to be how you want to be. breaks my heart. God bless all of you and may he move the mountains that stand in your way so you can be happy and live life they way you are fighting to live. I wish each and everyone of you luck and strength. ♡♡

Instead, he/she/zir/hir assumes Andy Pant's gender, then assumes he/she/zir/hir is a Trump supporter; all while lambasting the name 'pants' when he/she/zir/hir has 'Reviled' as a handle. A post that was once a meager serving of comedy gets overburdened with a cyclopean dollop of irony. Lo! Someone who most likely fastens their cape and cinches their moral sword-belt to engage in the crusade against inequality... now seen openly discriminating against those who may make their abode in the 'backwoods' or vote republican. From my personal perspective as a male, its not my intention to discriminate or treat a transgender differently. When I meet a girl, its just my nature reaction to treat her as a girl. When I meet a man, I treat him as a man. But when I meet a man in a woman skin, its kinda messes up my head. Frankly, I just don't know how to react. Its going against human sexual orientation. We could be "bros" but I will still keep a distance. They could never be a real woman in my eye either. There will always be a repellant feeling towards them as the awareness of them being a man is always there. Its kinda unfair to ask me as a straight man to treat them as women. However, I could still treat them fairly as an individual. It just that I would be devastated if my children were to be one of them. For that reason alone, I really hope this culture would stop. It just dreadful for me to see this culture to be part of out future with my children expose to it. I believe this thought differs from each individual so I'm not gonna generalize it.
@NoSarcasm
@NoSarcasm 5 жыл бұрын
You have to understand not everything is about you. You treat them as women out of common courtesy and respect for their identities, regardless of whether it interferes with that feeling of them being male in the back of your mind. It's not unfair in any way for it to be expected of you to simply treat trans women as women by using correct pronouns and other simple things like that, for the sake of literally just being nice. It really ain't asking much. This isn't culture for it to stop, as you wish it would. Culture is socially constructed. Transgenderism as a condition is completely biological. All kinds of studies done on the subject have shown that a trans woman is really a female brain and consciousness forming inside a male body during prenatal development, leaving the individual consciously a woman, but physically a male. That disconnect is called gender dysphoria and is a traumatising and heavily exhausting mental condition, and the reason for suicide rates amongst the trans community to be as high as over fourty-fucking-one percent. Seemingly, the only remedy to alleviate gender dysphoria has proven to simply be acceptance. When a trans woman looks like a biological female, and is socially accepted and referred to as female, she starts to feel like one, which greatly helps, and is why you should realise how mentally and physically crippling this condition can be on a person bearing it, and why you should accept these people out of pure kindness, which again, isn't really asking much. Not more than the kindness you'd show any other person, anyway.
@elvoria
@elvoria 5 жыл бұрын
@@NoSarcasm Thanks for your advice but I'm sorry I just cant accept them as a women. I can however treat them as an individual. A friend at most but not more than that. What they are now are of their own making. One are not born with a knowledge of who they are nor are given any choice to their gender. What transgender experience now are the fact that they are discontent with their sex and they just won't accept it. How could a child even know how to pick their sex when they don't even know what boy and girls are? This alone proof that the idea of a female brain is in a male body are just a thought developed through social exposure and not a facts. There is no scientific evidence that point it as some kind of disability or a condition that is beyond one's choice. However there are cases where transgender regret their decision and wanted to live as the sex they are born with. So I can conclude that, its not an ailment but Its well within a person choice. With that it falls down to a matter of acceptance of who they are. How do they expect other to accept them when they don't even accept who they are? As long as they do not accept it, they are gonna be miserable for the rest of their life. Its not just the pressure from the society but also the struggle of their own mental health. They wont be happy and will always be struggling. Frankly they need counselling more than a sex change procedure. I blame those doctor that give them those procedure to further mislead them.

For a better life!” If a citizen stole food for a better life they’d go to jail, just the same. Have their kid with them? Their kid gets taken. WHY you break the law doesn’t matter. A law is a law. “I was speeding because...” But, you were still speeding. Do I think it’s fair? No. But it also wouldn’t be fair to give migrants 5-star treatment, “just because.” They get what every other criminal gets: A trip to a jail, with shitty cell mates, shitty guards, shitty healthcare, and slow ass court cases! A bit rude to use a meme to disregard the struggles being shown in the documentary. Like I'd understand if this was some angry trans person who was acting terrible in public but this is completely different...

I have nothing but support for true trangender people that need to come here. I do wish that they would become proud Americans while they live here however.
