Broken shark ion robot vacuum can we fix it? Very interesting find

So today I got some more robots in and this one really interested me. So in this video I decided to record me taking it apart and fixing the issue which was simple but a first for me just shows you never know what can be wrong with these things . Also make sure to pick up trash that can cause issues before vacuuming.

This was somewhat helpful, but my rv750 wheel assembly is covered by the bottom. I removed the battery and all of the screws, however, I will need to separate the bottom from the top. Do you have a youtube showing how to separate the bottom from the top so that I can access the wheel assembly?

Video gives me hope. Our shark fell into the shower without out us knowing. I accidentally turned the shower on it while it was upside down. At that point only one wheel was turning. Is this a fixable problem and are there parts out there ?

Hey, where can I find someone in my city (Miami) that does this type of repairs. I got mine for Christmas...got wet and stopped working. It charges but the buttons don’t work and when I try to start it from the app the clean and dock start blinking. It says to clean the cliff sensors, I did but that doesn’t fix the problem. My shark ion is 14 months old. I keep getting error 6 to make sure the bumper is moving freely. It is moving fine and I have cleaned the sensors. Customer service simply offered a discount on a new one. Is it worth trying to take the bumper off to see if there is something under it, like dog hair, causing an issue?

Io have the shark UR1105ARUS It ran over dog poop I clean with a wet sponge and soap when it turns on it only flashes a red battery. On the charger same thing I have 4 volt on the robot and 19.8 on the charging base and I replaced the battery still nothing and is this worth fixing and do you sell refurbished robot

My 1001 model had a head on collision with my dogs poop and after cleaning it up, it gives me error 14 that is it is stuck on the magnetic boundary strip so I took the bumper off and clean those sensors off also, even thou I didn't see anything that cleaning could have helps and after re-assembling it, it's still error 14 and it's now saying it is stuck on the magnetic strip or also that the bumper is stuck. If there is a sensor gone bad, how can you determine which one to replace? Thanks

Hmm thats interesting do you have a strong magnet or speaker laying around? Might be stuck and be able to run the magnet around the on the top and bottom to loosen it up. Might also want to take the whole robot part and make sure nothing inside of it a lot of times the issue isn't the poop its the fluid and pee around the poop that makes the motherboards and sensors go bad.

Johnny Marshall sounds like a wheel could be stuck off the ground a little bit. try pushing wheels in and see if they are moving up and downz

Johnny Marshall they shouldn’t click could be a broken piece in the wheel making it say it’s not on the ground I’d remove the wheel that’s clicking and examine and compare to the other wheel.

Have you taken the right and left wheels apart and cleaned? Could be sensor issue, motor issue , gears going bad in one side, or motherboard not sending correct voltage .

I have an RV851WV that I can't seem to figure out. It acts completely dead. Tested battery voltage, 13.8 V, charger shows 19V across the terminals, switch flips on and off, and can't seem to get it to power up, no lights or chime. So somehow just by taking it apart, I managed to make it work. Tore it down to the board, plugged the battery in, and it fired up. Slapped it back together and it's been working fine since. I'm guessing it's got a loose connection somewhere, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Mikesha Huntley when you mean bumping it just going till it hits something then turns and moves to another area and bumps something ? This is normal unless you have a shark iq robot . These robots have a feature built in that slows them down before they hit something but it’s normal to hit everything .

Mikesha Huntley some of them are better at slowing down and not hitting stuff as hard but they are random navigation bots unless you buy the 1001 which has a camera and maps out the floor plan. So it’s gonna move around once the bumper gets pushed in it will change direction.

Cheyanne Childers could be a few different thing. First most batteries are low or dead on arrival so could be the charger is bad, could be the charging contacts on the bottom of the robot. Could be the on off switch. Worst would be a bad motherboard. Check these things , turn on off robot see if wiggling they’ll switch or on off back and forth will cause it to do anything. Check to make sure power on the charging station is working. If you have a volt meter test the charger , the charging pads and the switch.

You need to clean the sensors make sure all the sensors are clean now to bring on them and then you need to check your bumper make sure it’s free check your wheels and make sure that they are pushing in and out him and have a good spring tension and sitting on the floor flat and you could be any of those issues. Unfortunately the new roebucks when I have issues isn’t always so simple so you might have to contact shark and if you’re within a year of purchasing it could be under warranty

There is a lot of different ways to tell sometimes not as easy as others. Check to see if it’s free spinning or bound up.

jay Verduzco it’s fixable for sure but could get expensive since we don’t know exactly what the true problem is. Take robot apart see if there is any spray corrosion on the motherboard then go from there to the suction motor .

Ours was doing the same thing I tried EVERYTHING finally I took my air compressor an cleaned the entire thing with it an the filter got in every crack an crevice an BOOM it worked again ... fyi it was flashing the red !
