With the price of a coffee cup a month you can help us document these incredible places and preserve history! ► / brosofdecay
This week we explored an abandoned mansion in the middle of nowhere somewhere in France. This was a true family business given over from father to son and stayed this way for years. It was a small mansion with a bed and breakfast attached to it. Only a couple of guests could sleep in this place at a time (approximately 10 guests).
It was a great family business for years on end but after some time the business started to decline and the family got in some financial troubles. They were very desperate and tried everything they could to revive the business. In a desperate attempt to survive the man decided to start growing and selling marijuana. For some time he got away with it but he got caught eventually and was sentenced to 10 years in jail. To this date, he still remains in prison and his hotel and mansion lay abandoned and forgotten. All the belongings were left behind and the family was not allowed to retrieve anything from the mansion or hotel. To this date, the place still lays abandoned and is a true time-capsule into the past. In the garage of the place, we found a remaining marijuana plant.
Join us on this adventure throughout this place and see what these people have left behind. Have fun watching this video Xx Lesley and Jordy xX

Its total bs people are still getting arrested for growing or smoking weed, its legal in most of the USA, all of Canada and a few other countries. I think it's Lesley guiding us through the video, I'm super bad with names so sorry if I got this wrong, but I think what Lesley was trying to say was that this person was suffering from severe stress related to the illegal activities he was participating in and the financial troubles and THAT was why he didn't care to clean or was drinking a lot. It was a sign of his mental health, not the fact he grew weed.

@Divine Sinner I live in California, and am a legal "cannabis" patient..It should have never been demonized by government, for profit..gotta keep selling those pills though, and demonize a natural plant..how far humanity has fallen from the natural human, for profit..💙

@@BennilocoLoves it's been years since I've smoked any but, I agree, it should be legal everywhere, its a natural herb. It's not like as you say, the pills that legally get pushed. Pills that are made AND sold by the government that ruin people's lives or kill them bc of addiction. I have health issues and yes, I tried vaping one night and about killed myself lol my asthmatic lungs couldn't take it lol I have chronic pain I deal with daily but, for me smoking isn't going to do it lol I have to try another form lol My lungs felt like they were on fire for a good week 😂

Cannabis is fully legal in Canada, where it is used both medicinally and for recreation. It is sad to see a beautiful property like this left to ruin. Financial security is important to most people, and choosing to grow and market a medicinal plant is a lot less damaging than robbing stores or breaking into homes to steal things. This is such a waste all the way around. Thanks for showing this. Stay safe and have fun.🖤🇨🇦 Edit* the spinning wheel is called a castle wheel, and they do work. They were designed upright to use a minimum of space. The carpet on the wall is called a tapestry, and was meant to minimize drafts.🖤🇨🇦

People are saying no big deal about weed. It is if he is selling it illegally. If he was growing fir his own use that is different. Example us making your own alcohol or liquor. If you sell illegally that is not ok . Even if a drug is legal you can't sell illegally. You can grow in mist places or make liquor for your own use . You just can't sell.

Thank You Kindly for another great video! It is a shame to see all these things that someone could use go to ruin. Even one of the items there may well bring joy into someone's life but there it rots away. I wonder if it was people looking for money or the police dumping things out for evidence that trashed the place? They could have created cheap housing for homeless people. When you think of all the hotels, motels and amusement parks and other places like it, it is cheap fancy looking junk. When the business stops it becomes junk and falls apart, unlike the old buildings that were made to last. This property looks well constructed and again I say, just left to rot away when it could be doing good for someone. Most modern buildings won't last long once abandoned. There will be piles of vinyl and other plastic with granite slabs. I wonder what archaeologists will find and what they will think a thousand years from now? Thanks Most Kindly! And is there another way to donate besides patreon? An address we could send to? Love, Light, Peace and Great Adventures to you all! DaveyJO in Pennsylvania

Back in time ~ previous to cell phones, calling "long distance" was horribly expensive. There were limited ways to correspond with far away relatives or our servicemen overseas. The cassette tape was the one way that we could talk to our loved ones, rather than writing. It was SOOO exciting to receive a tape from your loved one and to hear their voice!! When a service man was overseas, prior to cassette tapes, there were only letters or maybe a MARS station where you could talk over a HAM radio. This was a very interesting explore with a wonderful, but sad, backstory. Thank you for bringing us with you.

Linda Have you ever drove coast to coast during the summer with your windows down? It’s incredible how you smell weed growing in the wild. Nature’s medicinal plants 🌱 yet too much taxation and money 💰 to be made. It’s literally ‘high time’ we get with the program. When beaters and rapists are given less time. This is truly disgusting what a beautiful monument left to ruin. So many wonderful pieces of furniture. Both sickening and sad.

Jerry Andersen there’s a big difference between a weed-user and a supplier. I’m all for homegrown stuff but I think dealers should be hanged. The damage I’ve seen these guys doing (getting teenage-girls hooked up on their stuff and then pimping them around under their clientele until they turn into brainless heaps of misery and despare that never step out of the street-game) qualifies them for the harshest and most merciless treatment possible. They should stop breathing, no matter how.

Linda what about the lifes destroyed by his stuff? They don’t count? This guy should rot in jail for the rest of his life, and then in hell all over again. No mercy. If you have financial problems, sort them out. But don’t go and start exploiting other people because you happen to need money. Unforgivable.

Oh my goodness !! Such a beautiful house. I love the beams. The cabinets are stunning with the various carvings. There is no graffiti but why oh why do people have to mess up the places. They can lift and look but put it back where one found it. The small door into the other bedroom. I think that because of the low beams planning permission would not be allowed but to enable to have a connection the small door was was built. This did not interfere with the structure of the house. This was the reason my late sister had the same, to enable two sides of the house to be connected. You commented on a rug but displayed on the wall. In the UK they called them Wall Hangings, as simple as that. I once made one, my pride and joy 😊😊 Thank you so much for a thoroughly interesting and enjoyable tour Leslie. You have such a lovely relaxing voice to listen to. Also the respect you have is admirable. Many thanks again. ☺☺💖🌹💖

Hi Lesley, Bros of Decay, Thank you for sharing this very interesting explore in the abandoned mansion and hotel of that french man, who was growing marihuana weed. Although I think, that this "crime" is not really worthy to put someone in jail. It's an illegal activity of course, and as far as I know you get fined in our country but not necessarily jailed. - But what irritates me more, is that also his family had to suffer, and the house is just taken over by the state and then left to decay, whereas at the same time the other family members had to leave. It bothers me too, if you get into illegal stuff for making money, but I still think, that there are different levels of crime, such as very low crimes and then the extreme crimes, like heavy drug trafficking with hard drugs, which is - after my opinion - quite something else than merely growing weeds, although that is of course also illegal. - it was very funny watching you crawling through this hole into a bedroom. Great explore from the Bros of Decay. - I enjoy watching, and am already looking forward to your next adventure. Safe explores, peace and blessings, - and kindest regards from Switzerland.

I have never seen so many trashy 'nick knacks' all under the one roof, in all my 70 years! Dust-collectors, cheap figurines of dogs, cats, ducks, rabbits, squirrels, boats, children, chickens etc etc, knitted dolls, copper toolings. Plastic flowers, d'oileys, dishes, ugly plates and bowls. They were collectors of sheer JUNK. But i must say they did have some lovely furniture on which to display that junk C:

Marijuana is a plant that our planet grows naturally on its own. And also has many amazing healing properties. And thats why in the state i live in marijuana is legal.

You have the BEST videos!!!! A hostel, and they grew weed?! Hmm wonder if it was more like human trafficking ring it's extremely large ... Nothing wrong with weed btw not a goddamn thing wrong with weed or smoking weed. Creepy ass vibes going on in this property that's for sure that hoarder type definitely not a place for kids to be. next to the organ there is a huge fish tank with some nasty ass water in it wonder if the fish died

I also thought it should be more than just a marjuana arrest. The human trafficking came to my mind.

The house looks like it belonged to older people that died and someone younger inherited it that didn’t value it. So many of the items looks so old.

To me, if he's growing his own marijuana and he's not participating in Drug Cartel like behavior, he should not have gotten punished. But if he's exploiting people, killing, hurting, stealing, acting like a thug, hell yeah he deserves prison.

Wanted to comment on the large numbers on the telephone - back then it was just “cool” , or modern to have that type of phone, just one of many types of land line phones, before cell phones were so popular. We had one like it. The hotel part appears to have been rented out as apartments, as homes, and that’s why personal belongings are left behind, maybe? I know people that rent hotel rooms/suites and stay for many months or years-

Sorry but I am completely lost on this one, the owner was sentenced in 2006 for 10 years, and yet he is still in prison? Plus this place looks like it was abandoned in the 80s, can anyone explain?

@@BrosOfDecay thank you for the reply :) so it was abandoned in 2006? Wow, it must have been like a time warp when it was occupied then, it's a very interesting place, thank you very much for sharing the experience with us.

Was a beautiful place. You never know what you will do when you become desperate, especially when you are not young to work. Maybe family lived there at the end to help or it was used as rental for the steady income.

few problems I've found with weed are it is addictive, causes depersonalisation and paranoia. plus I've felt abnormal boredom each time after quitting weed. Not very desirable effects. But I still think it should be legal, with the warning of side effects on each pack of it. It's way less harmful than alcohol anyway

waki I’ve been smoking weed for almost 10 years! Not one time I got addicted I also in a weed group on Facebook if I ask them is weed addictive people are going laugh at me like I’m smiling crack. So just sit down some here shut up because you just sound real dumb right now 😂😂😂

@@ashtonwilk9428 You say you're using weed for ten years without getting addicted. It's like if someone claims he's drinking alcohol for ten years without being alcoholic. addict in denial with dead brain.

You stayed it was a hostel, so if they were providing room and board as in small apartments, which hotels in the united states do that as well, then when arrested, investigated, etc, then I suspect that all the people would be forced to leave the premises. So if it was a rush job of enforcing their exit, things would have been left behind. I know in the states, you end up loosing a lot of stuff in this case.
