Probably one of only few channels that don’t upsell you on their products. Keep the instructive vids coming. Thanks Dave

We figure if you can see the product works, and that you CAN install it at home, then they typically sell themselves. Thanks for commenting and watching!

Love these videos, hate the fact that I did not know this patch panel was available after having done this very repair (from scratch) about 12 months ago.

That's a bummer! But hey, you did it from scratch and that's a solid accomplishment!

Another great video tip from Brothers and buddy Dave Welch. Using a 120volt MIG weld with small wire 0.23” will keep the heat down, yet provide good penetration for the old & new to be come one. Practice, watch videos, just understand you are not only fixing but creating longevity to your repair. A few tools, a little equipment recommended in your price range unless you have 14 buddy’s who want you to do their trucks. Spot weld cutters are in two camps, fixed point that fit into an 1/8th” hole (They Sell Double End Drill Bits For This) but the second type have a spring loaded point. It retracts as you push but allowing the outside cutter to do its job. If not on Brothers, think McMaster-Carr. When welding a rosette weld, always start in the dead center to catch the parent metal. Often times others may call it a plug weld, either is correct. Some retain the spot weld look as it was new, while others grind or sand it smooth. It’s up to you for the look you want. Just remember that once you have measure and identified the bad section, check Bothers online catalog for you weld repair panel so you can show your buddies and tell them; “I did that myself”. It is almost as rewarding as saying “Dave Welch taught me how” but tell them anyhow because they may buy one also, but you have other stuff to do!

Awesome video!! I’ve been eye balling my neighbors old truck (‘47 advanced design) and since he has a bad back now maybe he’ll sell the old beauty so these vids may soon help immensely.

Is there a matching patch for the front of the inner fenderwell that bolts onto this section of core support? My core support and fenderwell are otherwise solid but both are pretty thin where water collected at the bolted-together junction.

There is a patch for the front of the fender tip that rots, but nothing for the fender well. You would just replace the fender well if it is damaged.
