Jim Carrey’s first movie (a bit part) was in Peggy Sue Got Married. It’s directed by Francis Ford Coppola, so it’s pretty good. It was the rival studio’s response to Back to the Future (time travel). Stars Kathleen Turner and Nicholas Gage. Morgan Freeman’s 1st movie (bit part) was in Brubaker. Prison movie, quite good, starring Robert Redford.

Thank you for your reaction Addie. As you mentioned the "Amazing Grace" song, I suggest you to listen Dan Vasc cover. Many people who liked the original also liked it. And, about reactions, you will probably like to see "eternal sunshine of the spotless mind". Main characters are played by Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet, but in a sci-fi film/romantic drama.
@redsoxu5715 ай бұрын
I'd forgotten the very beginning of this movie - funny how the movie tries to lay the groundwork that Bruce just "can't" be an a-hole, only to then spend most of the rest of the runtime putting that to the very very heavy test. But I do have to say, that first argument was his girlfriend's fault. Bruce was clearly word-vomiting at the end of a horrific day (not even just a garden variety bad day) and she did exactly what he then said she did (make it about herself). You're supposed to let that one roll off in the moment, and then do something like wait until the next day when he's feeling better and gently ask "so, do you really hate our mediocre life?" at which time he'll make a cute face, say "noooo", and then both can smile and move on. Good Partner 101 stuff!

I love the soundtrack in this movie. It helps elevate the feeling of love between Grace and Bruce so the prayer that Bruce witnesses from Grace hits harder. As a Buffalo sports fan, the most unrealistic part of this movie is the Sabres winning the Stanley Cup in the two weeks that Bruce had God's powers. Because that implies that they somehow made it to the finals and won a game or two without divine intervention.
