At 70 I have lost both parents when I was a young adult, then I lost a brother then a son and now my wife has died of breast cancer. As I look back if it had not been for my Faith I don’t know how I would have handled it all. I have 7 children, 14 grandchildren and one great grandchild. I pray for each one individually every day now. I was raised Baptist, but now live amongst 4 families of mennonites. I am Blessed.

My sister died at 21 days but we didn't have photos taken in those days so I just have her birth and death certificates and burial record. My mother's diary about our childhoods is one of my most precious memories and includes a description of the birth , brief life, hospitalisation and death. Even now over 50 years on we remember our sister. I do wish we had had a photograph however.

I think it is such a blessing to see your children grown up and continue in their Christian faith. Due to my girls father falling from faith, he abandoned his family and the years after were not how I would have chosen them. Now, neither of my girls follow Christ and resent the Christian part of their childhood. This all goes to the father who they felt was a hypocrite and the faith he did not follow. So you are right, a 2 parent family, serving the Lord is the best way to leave in this fallen world.

I'm genuinely trying to gain a better understanding of Bruderhof, so I'd like to ask what you might consider very basic questions. For example, the first one which came up in this video, was why did your Mom change her birth name, and does that signify something in particular within Bruderhof? I appreciate that I could find websites which provide certain information, but I'd much rather ask someone who is _'personally living'_ within a Bruderhof community. This leads to my second straightforward question... What do *you* think of Bruderhof as? For example, a religion, a community, a sect, a collective way of living and so on? This video clarifies that your maternal grandmother was _'Bruderhof'_ (if that's they way to contextualize it?) But was your Mom's grandmother also _'Bruderhof',_ and what was the situation on your paternal family history? I suppose what I'm asking, is how many generations of your family are/were _'Bruderhof'?_ And do you know any history regarding what caused them to become _'Bruderhof'?_ Sorry to fire so many questions at you like this, but as I say, I'd like to hear first hand, and _'direct from the horses mouth'_ so to speak. Many thanks in anticipation of your understanding. Stay healthy.

I'm getting thumbs up (thank you), but what I'm not getting, are any answers from Laura, which is a little disappointing, if not rude to be honest.
@suzanneedmonds15664 жыл бұрын
@@ljdmanxfella5793 I often wonder if the makers of vlogs receive comments to old vlogs? If not that might be why you have not received any answers. I do think though that if vloggers want people to subscribe to their channels and watch their videos then they should put effort into reviewing comments that are left. Except of course for vlogs that have thousands of comments, viewing that number is probably a big ask.
@ljdmanxfella57934 жыл бұрын
@@suzanneedmonds1566 Hi Suzanne. Thanks for your thoughts, they're really appreciated. I know how KZbin functions/operates quite well as I own and manage several channels myself under various registered companies. And silly as it might sound, I actually *want to* believe what you explain as a perfectly valid answer. But sadly, it just isn't. I don't mean sadly for you of course. I mean sadly for any positive light I was initially looking at _'The Bruderhof'_ in. I comment and ask questions on uploads, which in some cases, were uploaded to KZbin 8-10 years ago. And on KZbin channels which sometimes have several million hits, and even several million subscribers. But I've never *Not had* a reply from a KZbin channel owner, when I've asked them (directly) a question. In contrast, _'The Burderhof'_ (or Laura, I'm not sure which?) have/has only 8,000 subscribers, and 30,000 total views of this video which was only uploaded last year. Do you mind me asking if you're a member of the Bruderhof by the way Suzanne? Thanks again anyway. Stay healthy.

Hey Robin, I have a history with depression. Since I've been depressed for almost half my life. At my deepest point I was desperate to get out of it and searched for a way out. That's when I came across Jesus and His power to drive the depression out. I commanded the depression to leave in Jesus name and I haven't been depressed since. Shortly after this I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. I think depression can't have a grip on you if you are a born again believer. This is my take on it. God bless you in your search for answers!

I lost twins I didn't know I had at only 7 weeks. At the time I didn't know I was expecting or have anyone to share the news with. Now five years later, I still wish I had the twins with me. I never knew the twins were there in the first place, never heard a heartbeat, or felt the kicks, let alone gave birth. I don't know what it is like to bury a child, but I can imagine from miscarrying two 7 week old babys. I still never told anyone.
