Sweden joined the war against Napoleon in 1813 and fought in the battle of Gross Beeren 23/8 1813, Dennewitz 6/9 1813 and Leipzig 18-19/10 1813. If I remember it correctly we also declared war 1805 and fought the battle of Ückermunde 1807, but lost and had to withdraw our trade union with Great Britain.

Bernadotte didn’t betray Napoleon or get Sweden in return thou… Napoleon released him from any allegiance to France before he ascended the Swedish throne in 1810. Napoleon later became the aggressor when he invaded Swedish Pomerania on Bernadotte’s birthday, which is basically showing him the middle finger. This ultimately led to Sweden joining the coalition against him in 1813.

He was adopted in 1810 but did´nt sit on the throne until 1818 when Karl XIII, the man who adopted him on two cases of emty sacks (no kids and a debt to France), passed away.

Great battle! Looked like the French were toast... The one building (1pt) was unoccupied by either side at the end so a 5-5 tie. What happened was it was occupied but then deserted by the coalition to take out that french building at the end. So instead of losing 6-5, the coalition tied it

Well, the history of Sweden is quite complicated at that time. First Gustav III. was king before and died through an assassination during the French revolution (he was the guy that implemented absolutism in Sweden). His son Gustav IV Adolf was an enemy of the French revolution and joint the coalition against them. But after Russia left the coalition in 1807 and signed a treaty with Napoleon the Russians attacked Sweden and took Finnland and some islands and Sweden had to sue the Treaty of Fredrikshamn in wich they lost Finnland and other Territories to Russia. Meanwhile the Swedish estates weren't too fund of there king they got rid of him searched for a new one and found Karl XIII ( younger brother of Gustav III.)but he was quite old and had no children so they needed a successor wich they found(after there first choice died falling from his horse) in Jean Baptiste Bernadotte(yes he was french and yes he was a Marshal of Napoleon and yes this family is still in charge) in 1810. In 1812 he signed a treaty with Alexander II. about Finnland after that he than joint the coalition against the French again and fought the danish wich where allied to Napoleon he won against them and in the treaty of Kiel the danish had to give up Norway and got Swedish Pomerania. But the Napoleonic wars left Sweden economically destroyed and they entered a phase of peace that is still ongoing.

Sweden was in the 3rd or 4th coalition against France. They were defeated and signed a peace treaty with France during the battle of Friadland campaign. may have spelt place wrong

I think Sweden was on the side of Great Britain on the Napoleonic wars. Denmark was an ally of France and because they lost Sweden got Norway in the peace deal.

Indeed, after secularisation of the Teutonic Order durring Hołd Pruski, polish rulers underestimated Prussia, wich led to polish, and not only polish doom. If only Poland with its might crushed Prusia on that time, there would be no I and II World War.

Prussians threw the battle away so badly. They could have swept the French units if the player was smart about his formation and his movements. But that epic siege of the house on the French right flank was fucking beast! That last stand was amazing! Quality content i subbed for Pixelated Apollo. I wish you had more subs than 500k! (Almost). You deserve 2m or more!

Little rant here: Players claiming that artillery is useless are either bad at microing artillery and/or ignorant about history. Historically speaking, artillery was key in the victories of generals such as Gustavus, Frederick II and Napoleon. It would often cause severe casualties, just look at Waterloo. Artillery in regard to game statistics, I have no problem with getting 400 kills with a decent artillery unit in Empire (Darthmod). Few players seem to know this, but to micro artillery properly one has to manually click a little in the front of the enemy, auto fire or simply targeting the enemy is less accurate. That said, I agree with you Apollo, K/D ratio is not really that important.

Absolutely love this mod, and your channel. I wouldn’t be upset if you uploaded these daily or twenty times a day!! Lol. But I hope you do continue your uploads of M&B, Holdfast, Iron Harvest etc gameplay as you clearly enjoy those but I hope if you do decide to phase out the TW gameplay you do at least continue with N:TW3. In my opinion it’s the most fun, strategic, and interesting to watch and it’s especially great when you throw your historical twist and stories on the replays!

The Prussian infantry must have glitched with their formations because I don't see any reason as to why the player, (who was doing very well up until France fell back to the woods) would leave his troops at such a disadvantage for so long. Almost cost the coalition the game.

Sweeden was indeed part of the coalition 1st and 2nd coalition went without a fight for them,3rd coalition too late to send troops 4ty coalition sweedish army of Pomerenia was destroyed by marshal mortier's 8th corps and then of course bernadottes betrayal in the 6th coalition.

Switzerland was allied with France for almost all of the napoleonic wars, up until the end. Napoleon made one of his marshals the king of Switzerland

Sweden’s role in the Napoleonic Wars was confusing. If you check Wikipedia then you’ll see that they were on the Coalition and on the French side. So maybe at the start of the war they aligned themselves with the Coalition Powers, later aligning themselves with France after Napoleon’s return from exile?

What an amazing battle, (SPOILERS) but dear God I was so devastated by that loss; the French stood SO boldly and forced so many casualties down the Coalition's throats. Since the beginning of the game I felt that the French were losing and we're going to ultimately lose the battle, but MAN those couple last stands completely changed my attitude for up until the very end. Great game, great video. Thanks, Apollo, for sharing with us!

To be fair, it would not have been close at all if the Prussian player hadn't dropped. Then, the Prussian infantry would not have been in such awful formations and would not have broken so easily. And if that had been the case, the French would have been surrounded and vastly outnumbered, so they almost certainly would have lost. I actually would have preferred if the Prussian player didn't drop. The Coalition really earned the win, and they were unlucky that it was so unnecessarily close. If the French had actually earned the comeback, that would have been different. But they didn't. The Prussian player just had some bad luck.

Amazing... That battle was awesome. The start didn't seem that exciting. And I was kind of cheering for the coalition at the start. By the end I really wanted the French to win but damn that literal last battle for the farm house. It could of been... probably the most epic turn around in total war history!
