Immolation are one of the best death metal bands out there. Although ive noticed only very few metal fans know about immolation. what I love is that this band has an absolute presence on the stage, commanding, and they are totally non-pretentious. no crazy get ups, all just in black, casual attire, but they sound more evil and better than 90% of death metal bands.

Damn, this alone made me start appreciating Immolation more than I have in the past. They very much have a sound of their own that's ominous and dismal, that even though they have their share of blast beats doesn't rely on that to be "br00tul" or anything like. Foster the Divide was written for live performances I think...so good! They played it in Portland, Maine and I had the great pleasure of being there! In this video Ross's bass comes through really well, it adds so much to the sound. Meanwhile Bob's leads sound a little muted. Doesn't matter, sounds incredible.
