i already do all of this. its helped ny nails so much. my nails used to be thin and break all the time then i stoped messing with them and started using cuticle oil. best thing ive ever done

I've always used cuticle oil but i didn't realise i needed to put it behind the nail as well or that massaging it in would aid the nail in growth. how informative! I love your videos.

Thanks for this video! I'm new to manicures. I've always been a nail picker/biter and really never paid too much attention to the importance of nail health....totally and utterly neglectful. So of course because of that my nails and hands have certainly suffered...ANNNNNND I'm 40 yrs old...lol. I'm on my 3rd manicure in 8 weeks and I must say this recent one is when the light bulb finally went off in my head.....ding ding ding ding! Now, thanks to your vid, I know how to maintain nail health. Thanks!

Hey girl! If possible, could you do a more in-depth explanation of how to cut cuticles. I'm not sure what to cut and what not to cut.

hey! sure, I'll plan a cuticle specific video...but try not to cut them if you dont have to. as shown, you only want to trim what is loose and hanging after pushing them back. so a rule of thumb is if it's white and wavy its fair game...hope that helps

How long do you wait after applying the cuticle oil before applying nail polish and do you wash your hands before nail polish?

lucy williams i wait for my nails to absorb the oil, then i reapply sometimes a lot..... so at least an hour. But i dont wash my hands because i dont want the water & soap to dry them out again. You can just swipe the nail with rubbing alcohol, polish remover, or even nail dehydrator to remove the surface oil before painting.

does the multiple layers of gel make your nails really strong? I am looking for something to really add strength so I can grow my weak nails.

Yes, the right gel will give you protection against breaks. I would recommend doing an overlay, if your nails are thin or peeling.

thanks! i always kept my nails pretty short and if they grew out they'd break. Massaging them daily with coconut oil is how i started to grow them out successfully, plus keeping them polished helps prevent accidents, and of course a good diet : D

Technically yes, but we're not overexposing our skin to it, just wiping clean.

Hang about: you said that polish removers with acetone are the best, but I thought the accepted wisdom was that acetone is bad for yr nails and you should steer clear of it! Which one is true?

The truth is that soaking your nails in ANY type of liquid including water weakens them. Ever notice how soft your nails are when u get out the shower/bath? Non-acetone removers, like acetone, are still solvents which break down your polish, however acetone is quicker and more effective. I may do a more in depth video....?
