S1 is a masterpiece. Season 2 in at first for me a 6. I really felt something was off, so I watched it again. It became so much worse and all the story problems, inconsistencies, and nonsense dialogue showed how bad it really was. I’d give it as low as a 2 in comparison to S1. Animation still 10/10 though.

Season 2 doesn't do character arc. It has character limits. Establishing a trajection for where they will go and then jumping as fast to the conclusion of it as possible, only to then be able to repeat the process again.

14:50 I think we remember some of these movies being less violent because many of of us first saw them on TV edited for TV. I remember when we first started to get streaming I would call and check with my dad and say hey dad I remember the original cannonball run as a fun movie. Is that OK for kids? Just because I had seen the edited for TV movie with the bloopers and the moment where the actual violence is in a movie bleed out.

Best thing about arcane s2 is it unmasking the grifters that have been masquerading as insightful media analyst. When clear character arcs are seen as out of character moments and magic is seen as a problem in a show woth teleporters you know the jig is up.

Some of my favorite Movie Critics and all but one turn into hating fools About Arcane Season 2, EVERYTHING in Season 2 is a MASSIVE payoff from things established in Season 1, all character stay perfectly true to their game version ( which is VERY important for Riot) and things that were established in Season 1. Season 2 skips over as much stuff as was skipped over in Season 1. Season 1 was establishing the Characters and building them up, Season was about the greater Plot. JInx being less excentric is because Season 1 ended with her finally finding herself as being just Jinx, she stopped being torn and broken and fractured. So of course she is less "crazy" in Act 1 and 2... wow, you realyl ALL wore hater glasses watching Season 2, happy to defend my opinion on stream any time and explain why Season 2 is still amazing (less surprising then Season 1, since nobody expected it to be THAT good, but still amazing)

@@fortherepublic6475exactly!!! it wants us to think these characters are having arcs. Yet we never get to experience or watch those steps towards this new version of themselves. It feels like there’s multiple episodes cut from the show. Because a lot of the “arcs” in the show COULD be plausible arcs for each other the characters. But this horrible writing and lack of time to show the arcs horrible. 3/10 season (animation still 10/10)

@@jacksoneee6759 Yes, we could have had an entire act of Jinx learning how to take responsibility and care for a child/little sister. Her slowly regaining her sanity because raising Isha giving her a sense of meaning would be amazing, especially when intercutting and reflecting it with Vi losing her job, girlfriend and reason to live and her slowly turning to selfdestuctive behavior with alcohol and underground boxing. All great charcter work that gets wasted because it is spedrun at a pace that Niftski couldn't keep up with in SMB NES.
