Dreamers is such a nice World Cup song, my dad is a big football fan but he was always kind of skeptical about BTS, he just assumed they were overrated, after he heard this song he finally gave them their flowers and even started praising them, also you pronounced fahad’s name correctly

31:21 they never explained frame by frame like this but some time later they did mention that it was about this and also in general - losing someone. they were in government's blacklist for this and that's probably why they couldn't say this directly at the time but this song means a lot to koreans in general and still is on their charts to this day:(

I have a feeling that Namjoon will end up being your ultimate bias . "Why do i love him?" Honey it all starts from this. Been there ( when i first heard Suga and his raw and transperent lyrics which caught me off guard and without realising he became my bias ) . The thing about Spring Day is that they could never really say if it is or not about the tragedy. There’s a short documentary made by Italian Army channel that explains in very tiny details not only the MV but what happened that day. She gathered so much information, it’s impressive. It’s a very heavy watch because we’re talking about lives that were lost and a government that chose to do nothing and watch a tragedy take palce

for spring day, artists or celebs couldnt really talk about it explicitly cuz they could get black listed. and BTS could have gotten blacklisted cuz they went to meet the victim's families back in 2014 [the families told us this story themselves] and although you can say that you can take this explanation with a grain of salt, as it is not officially confirmed by them, but there are too many hints that can be connected to each other to tell a bigger picture. and the song itself is about missing a dear friend so..

There's more to Spring Day's lyrics than non Korean speakers realise. Parts of the lyrics are written in a traditional poetic style that resonants with Koreans. It's very hard to explain how special this song is to us.

so here's what I realized as I was watching RM and SUGA earlier... RM is calling Indigo as his last archive of his 20s, while he's still 28 in international age but he's saying 29 because of the Korean age system.. and he's saying he'll turn 30 next month when his birthday is on September, but everyone in Korea is going to be 1yr older every New Year cause New Year is basically all of Korean's birthday..

The Spring Day explain video by Italian ARMY is very detailed and for me it felt impossible for the MV not to be about the sewol ferry tragedy after watching her video. Warning though it is very hard to watch, but so important to know not only what BTS and their company stood for, but also what actually happened to those poor people that day. Rm is a poet! 💜 I just did not realize how great he is. His Indigo album made me realize that. In the Spring Day explanation videos they are interpretations with factual information and knowing how BTS do their mvs. RM actually wrote the song because he was missing some friends, people, family due to heavy schedules and he was feeling sad. The song was written prior to the tradegy however the mv was specifically made due to the tradegy. In Korea you still have to be careful what you say because there will be consequences for celebrities, being black listed by the government as an example. BTS didn’t come out and say it was specifically because of the Sowol ferry incident but said it was related to a tragic event.

I've never felt more seen than when I watched you have to come to terms with the allure Namjoon's speaking voice and accent lol. There's something warm and inviting/welcoming to the sound of Joon's voice. Especially when he lets his guard down enough to speak in his natural voice rather than pitching it higher like he usually does (to be heard better). The man's voice is much MUCH deeper so he worries that people won't hear him well enough but it's hella nice.

Get in line sweetie, we ALL want RM to just talk to us for hours on end 😂 I'd be happy if he read me the phone book lol 💜 Spring Day makes me cry every damn time. There's another explanation, by Italian army, you get even more details from her, like the dryers in the laundromat being reminiscent of portholes on a boat, it's heartbreaking. The guys have said it's a song about loss and grief but everyone quietly agrees the MV is about Sewol, just way too many details for it all to be coincidence. Artists got blacklisted for showing support so bighit has said the guys' donations to the cause were done as private concerned citizens. The president was impeached over it, many of the crew and captain are currently in jail, some committed suicide over the guilt of leaving almost 300 students to drown. I think I love them because they make me cry! 💜💜💜🙏

For Spring Day, it was mentioned that it was about missing someone. As far as I know, those who speak about the tragedy will get blacklisted by the government. That's why they can never speak out about it directly. If you look at the lyrics, it can be interpreted different ways of missing someone. Looking at the music video and the explanation you watched, you see it can represent the tragedy too.

To my knowledge, the members have never been specific about the meaning of the Spring Day vid except to confirm that it did have something to do with the Ferry tragedy...and on a more general note, loss. It is difficult for them to be specific because when they came out with the vid, artists and journalists, etc. were being blacklisted by the government and it was quite a dangerous thing to speak out directly. This vid and the Italian ARMY explanation are, I think, the most generally accepted "theories". Some things in the explanation make complete sense, and are hard to find another way of explaining...for instance, the pile of laundry being modeled after the artist's work of the same image. Omelas is a pretty blatant reference. Things like that. You talking about RM's voice....yeah, I could listen to him and SUGA all day. RM's voice is actually lower than this...he's talked about how he has to raise the pitch of his speaking voice, cuz it's so low that it's hard to understand what he says if he doesn't raise the pitch. And, yes, Still Life is a collab with Andersaon Paak (sp?).

Snow piercer is a PHENOMINAL movie. You MUST watch it….it rings true. It’s right up there with the movie greats and you won’t be the same after watching it. The song is factual, you must understand, South Korea is democratic BUT you have to be careful how you say things, I guess this is remembered from imperial ruler ship as a core of their culture? BTS songs are in metaphors and no image or prop is there without intent. They speak through their music. That’s how you can have a banger tune but if you look at the lyrics they can be quite dark , or be saying something else. BTS is famous for this. This song was in rebellion and their label gave a lot of money to help the parents 💜

I believe that when he talks about idols not being taken seriously it's mostly because RM as well as Suga were underground rappers so the krap or khiphop industry thought it was betrayal to become an idol, or to join an idol group like they did, and that maybe they weren't real rappers anymore! They had a lot of struggle with those in the first years of their career. There's also the fact that bts are always stuck in one box and it must have been frustrating because they never fully followed all the rules of idol groups and just wanted to be artists, and music lovers. But i guess now it's more of a "idc" just call me whatever i don't need a title to do what i do Indigo is exceptional, and i recommend rm's film magazine i don't remember the name but it's a video where he talks about each songs and the reason why he chose certain artists for his features. They're all very different and unexpected so it's very interesting

46:26 omg, bts literally invented fun dance practices (ones where idols wear costumes/exaggerate their movements). This is the "gogo" dance practice, but they have them for a lot of their songs

Just some random info that wasn't really mentioned in the idol MV that is quite obvious actually. Haters usually said BTS used too much greens screen or many effects in their MVs, so in the IDOL mv, they added a *lot* of green screen and weird effects because thats the stereotypes haters had with them back then. Antis also said they dress very weirdly or too colorful, so they chose to wear suits with colorful patterns on them. There's a scene where Tae is at the front with some glasses. Some anti in the past said that glasses looks bad on him. Also the scene where RM has some filters on his face. Because in one of his vlives, he was playing with filters and some antis said filters looked bad on him. Idol is basically a slap to the haters 😩 (English isn't my first language, so sorry for any mistakes)

it wouldve been better for you to react to "what you still dont know about bts spring day" by Italian army its a longer video but its better and explains everything better. its not a theory. too many people think its subjective and a theory but bts members and pdogg have confirmed it as well as the victims families who not only bts met with them during the time but they also met with Italian army. all koreans especially k armys have said that during the time of this release they all knew right away what it was about during this time any form of criticism could get you blacklisted any support given to the families could get you into a lot of trouble especially for people in the entertainment industry. bts didnt care about the consequences and they donated and met with the families in person. then went on to make two songs that reference this as well as perform one on live tv knowing it might get them blacklisted. that song is called am i wrong and it directly calls out a government official and the government in general. highly recommend reacting to that song and a explanation too. i also suggest watching/reacting to italian armys video. the director and a actor in snow piercer were actually on the blacklist too so if the president was never impeached then movies like parasite wouldnt have happened and wouldnt have won at the oscars. and bts probably wouldve been blacklisted as well. korean armys said they were very worried for bts during the time and that they were very brave.

The Italian ARMY version is much more detailed, and much more infuriating and heartbreaking. I'm still haunted by some of the images. I'm so proud of BTS for standing up and doing the decent thing in this situation despite the damage it could have caused to their careers. Fair warning, the Italian ARMY is a hard watch. I've never seen anybody get through it without crying, raging, or both.

The explanation video that you watched for Spring day is okay, but the one made by "Italian ARMY" is based more on facts and research and she really went to Korea for it. I suggest you watch that explanation video as it went deeper on the meaning of the song and MV and also focused more on the details of the tragedy.

Possibly that he is very energetic and he is proud of this and does not think anything is wrong with it. Fun Fact: Idol is BTS mixing African and Korean Culture to make for a stunning MV!!! They used traditional Korean instrument to drive the beat of Afro House music. They used West African print material (Ankara) for their suite designs! And they incorporated popular African dances into their choreography! The "Gwara Gwara" is the dance move they are doing with the knee isolation and arm in the air and was first popularized by Rihanna. I LOVE THIS VIDEO and THE SONG!!! For spring day, I’m not sure they’ll ever say that this was about Sewol specifically. The government would lose it especially then. Like when you watch the story of Sewol, it’s pretty spot on. I think recently they did say something about it but not full out. But we all know.

In a 2020 interview Jin actually did confirm it, he was still a little vague in the phrasing, probably for plausible deniability, but it was far clearer than anything they’d said before. But the song was always left open for interpretation on purpose and for RM specifically he related it more to losing a friend, but it’s a multi-layered thing. I mean, think how quickly it became a symbol for missing loved ones during the pandemic.

Your questions about Spring Day were really good. Is the theory confirmed by BTS? No, overtly they can't be seen to be saying anything against the government as SK is still a country where overt speech like that could be punished so they made a beautiful song and video to get their point across. SO the clothes mountain, the rust, the lyrics etc all definitely point that way. The extra theorising like Jungkook losing his innocence portrayed by the carousel is like in English class when your teacher wanted you to theorise about a writer, we can't know but it points that way. I agree with you, Spring Day is a sad sounding song and while it's beautiful and poignant it isn't in my playlist cos I can't spend more time each day bawling. The kore thing in Idol was they found kingsize condoms in the background of one of Jin's post debut vlives... BigHit claims they were inside a fan gift box he received the day before and yet the fandom theorises 👀 "that video" was the dance practise for Go Go they did one halloween... it's super cute go check it out, go go is a great song 💜 Thank you dearest again for another thoughtful BTS reaction. I doubt BTS would get government blowback today, I just don't think they prefer to put the spotlight on themselves so they have no motivation to pursue more press about the MV. Then-President Park's administration was punished, and she was removed from office, so the threat of being blacklisted by that administration is gone as far as I understand.

The song is about missing people who are no longer in your life. It doesn't necessarily mean that those people have died. The video, however, is about the Sewoll Ferry Tragedy. Jin confirmed that in an interview towards the end of 2020. This explanation has caught a lot of the references but there is another one, by Italian Army, that catches even more. Things like the time on the clock in the laundry room and the symbolism of putting coins in the laundry machine. Italian Army goes into the cause of the accident and the aftermath, as well as showing footage from the tragedy itself. She even has footage taken by one of the students on the sinking ship, allowing us to hear how the students were ordered to stay in their places. Her video is very detailed but, because of that, absolutely heartbreaking. Some people can't even watch the whole thing because of how upsetting it is. To me, that's actually a good thing, because it means that people understand just how horrible what happened really was.

I thought it unfair for him not to sing in S Korean Hangul as well. I get for him to be the English singer but his country was playing & able to sing for the world would have been great. It May have been JKs decision or he agreed but I would have applauded the inclusion at a world event. Just me. Nice song nonetheless
