I actually point to Bubba quite often as "the standard" for a cup series driver. Not everyone is gonna be a superstar talent like Larson, and not everyone is gonna be as suffocatingly consistent like Elliot was last year. Bubba represents the current day equivalent of guys like Jamie McMurray. You can expect him to be fast at the tracks hes good at, he has the equipment and skill to string runs together at almost any track in general, but hes not someone youre gonna look to for consistent wins. No shame in that. If he keeps going the way he is, hes definitely gonna have a career similar to guys like the already mentioned Jamie McMurray, Clint Bowyer, or even a Ryan Newman (minus the ~20% Pole rate).

Correction: Based off what I've heard, Bubba's car for Kansas was the same car that Kurt Busch won in. But you've gotta make the right adjustments for the driver and the time of race to get to victory lane. That same car was wrecked at Las Vegas a few weeks later Bubba Wallace gives me Clint Bowyer or Jamie McMurray vibes. He's gonna get about 7 - 10 wins in his career, have consistent seasons, and make the playoffs without shenanigans

I personally don’t think NASCAR fans dislike Bubba because of the color of his skin but because of the things he has said and done. This includes confronting Bowman while he was suffering from heat exhaustion, right hooking Larson at Vegas, and the comments he made on CNN after the Talladega incident. The backlash clearly isn’t because of his skin color because if it was a racial issue, Daniel Suarez, Rajah Caruth, and Toni Bridenger would also be hated but they are not because NASCAR fans are not racist or sexist. Anyone that makes that claim is gaslighting diehard NASCAR fans. Although he was the loudest vocal supporter of the Dixie flag ban, I think NASCAR would have banned it even without Bubba’s support because of the cultural pressure at the time. Although the BLM car was not tied to the BLM organization, a lot of people disliked it because the phrase was political in nature and the organization was exposed as a scam later on.

As an outsider who's trying to get into Motorsports of any kind, I realized F1 and NASCAR are just toxic fan bases. F1 fans can't hold their head high on this one because of the constant hate I see from its fans as if they are special all while crying about America which is usual usual when its the same s*** just from a different perspective while thinking one is better, or someone else has worse fans which is usual when you're loyal to one thing more than others. I tried to get into this car sports because I can't stand fans or athletes anymore thinking motorsports would be different, but this is just the same thing with engines. Which is why I have taken with IndyCar because of the cult personal with the other two. It's way more equal & not nearly as obnoxious with F1 elitism, amazing consistent passing, and no constant wrecks like NASCAR with a much more even playing field and 5/8 winners a year in 17/18 races. They got drivers from Brazil, America, Sweden, Spain, Mexico, Columbia, Denmark Aussie and British as the top drivers I've seen. I don't know what your experience is maybe watching it on the internet or a small live experience, but my family moved from the Netherlands and fell in love with NASCAR besides myself once they put down their nose. But any massive sport around the world or any country is going to be obnoxious sadly. We got invited to go to Talladega when we went to Alabama and that was absolutely incredible the environment and seeing it in person was a whole other thing. But the one thing I've learned while visiting certain countries is that the local track experience is so much more fun watching the real lovers of the sport .The environment over these prima donna "elite" organizations with rich kids or family connections getting them to the top and it's all a circus that goes with F1 & NASCAR.

I really enjoy watching Wallace, because despite his issues, he’s one hell of a driver. Whether it’s pit stop problems, or him getting into his own head too much, there are few drivers I’ve seen that in the course of a race can start in the top 5, have a horrible pit stop, come out 30th, work his way back to the top 10, screw up somewhere else, drop back into the 20s, and still finish in the top 10-15 most weeks. That’s hardly the mark of a “bad driver”. Until he gives a reason otherwise, he’ll remain one of my favorites each week.

Bubba has 1 win on speed while his teammate is a likely future champion. He is more well known for being "the black NASCAR driver" and the garage door pull story in the mainstream than he is for anything he's done on track. His personality is extremely polarizing at best and downright nasty at worst. He brings a lot of criticism upon himself by acting out and mouthing off every time something doesn't go his way and justifying it by hiding behind his race and saying they'd criticize him either way just because he's black. In all honesty, Bubba has mid to slightly high potential. However, his ego and his anger issues set him back from getting to his peak. That being said, I still don't get how Daniel Suarez is being criticized for underperforming when he has the same calibre equipment and stats as Bubba, yet Bubba gets all the excuses as to why he should keep his ride. (not a Suarez fan btw) As for Ty Dillon, he actually tried not to use nepotism as his path to the Cup Series, although he and his mediocre brother haven't done very well. Ty got lesser equipment than Bubba and did nothing with it ; Bubba has been poached for high rides because of the obvious and has been mid in them. Should be the same disappointment emotions being voiced at both.

I like Bubba but he’s not one of my faves, however I still think he’s a pretty capable driver and gets astronomically more hate than he deserves (there’s valid reasons to dislike him but the vast majority of people hate him for dumb reasons) I think he’ll show more improvement in 25 and put himself closer to Reddick. And often times his results don’t seem to reflect his team’s performance. And he had a pretty clean 2024 compared to most drivers.

I dislike him Because to him driving top tier equipment and isnt winning often. He is like Danica imo with how his sponsorship dollars aren't backed by his talent. There are so many other drivers that dont bring money but have more talent. Exhibit A would be cory heim. But that goes into a broader NASCAR issue
