I know it seems "broken record" to you, but to us its a GREAT teaching skill. I'm starting to catch myself repeating your words in my head as I tie.

I am over dressing my Bucktail by a tad. The ones I posted today are a bit too much. Great videos!! Big takeaways for me were: the soft wrap to compress the flare and when pulling the thread forward on reverse tie is to start up from the bucktail and wrap towards it to start cone.

Great job! You are not a broken record, you are driving home the importance and I appreciate that.

Another good video Gunnar. You are repetitive but for a reason, it's important. Keep the good stuff coming buddy.

Awesome Gunnar! Is there any video, or plannings, what thread you use for what materials or fly‘s and why?
@Gunnar_Brammer3 жыл бұрын
For sure - I’ll add a Thread Selection video to the Thread Control Series at some point. Long story short, I tie 99% with Mono. Danville 0.006” Mono, or Veevus 0.008” (stronger, and better suited to use with non-compressible synthetics). The other 1% is used for Dubbing Loops, for which I use 150 GSP for Bucktail Loops and 210 Flymaster Plus for Strung Fuzzy Fiber and Flashabou Loops.

@@Gunnar_Brammer Mono is a game changer for bucktail work.

Why not GSP? I am good with trout flies, but i am jumping more into streamers. @@Mkeflyfish

@@Oholisfliesandfishing I prefer building thread dams with mono over GSP. But both will do great, especially if you cord up your gsp by giving it a good spin.

Hi Gunnar, what is the practical difference between a bulkhead and reverse bulkhead? When would you choose one technique over the other?
@michelboivin1483 жыл бұрын
Great teaching as usual and so useful ! Can you add a few words about hook selection ( in terms of weight and shank length) for your Bulkheads ? Many thanks again !

Do you only fish these with sinking line only? I have to weight my buck tail a lot to get any sinking g out of them.

I been tying reverse bulkhead and hollow fleyes all day to get ready. 😆

When do you think we will start referring as a scratched CD. Love your instructional videos. Wish you would do a articulated crawfish pattern!!!
