@@RASHME20That is a situation I am currently in as well. Having trouble forgiving because it keeps happening by the same family member. And unfortunately I do not have the resources to pull myself away yet, and it is a family member so not someone you can easily let go of. What I am learning is the best thing I think to do is firstly accept that things are the way they are. You cannot cannot control them anymore than they can control you. We can Try to create as much distance as we can from those people and when we do have to confront them, to do our best to create boundaries and stick to your true values, and work on empowering ourselves and living in unconditional love. Try to have some empathy. It is extremely hard and will require a lot of effort on our part but there’s not much else we can do when stuck in that situation. There are people like this in the world and we can’t always avoid them but we can learn to deal with them and exercise self control.

@@RASHME20 I think in that case it’s your responsibility to do your best to protect yourself from their continued abuse. I believe you have a right to not be abused. Jesus talked about letting the person strike you on the other cheek as well, but I don’t think he meant that you should be beaten in the face constantly for the rest of your life

we aim forgiveness at ourselves in our culture but it’s a grieving process… and you have to first accept the past which is also a grieving process nobody is ever gonna change how they feel for you you can still self affirm and grieve out how shitty how they feel makes you feel as you get it out of you how they feel bothers you less and less once the resentment you harbour towards yourself for finding yourself in that situation to begin with is gone so is that person from your mind it’s nice when they no longer control you emotionally #2Spirit #indigenous #spirituality #philosophy

I am finding myself feeling so much more charitable since going NC. Even wishing people their own healing from WAY over there. I understand that for some people it’s more difficult to go NC than for others. But it was impossible to forgive and also impossible for me to heal while being continually (& purposely) hurt.

Sometimes I think I forgive someone but then when I see them, I get angry all over again. Forgiveness is hard. It's especially hard to let go of anger and resentment that you've built towards them. But you don't want to continue to hold grudges for years because then it will start to affect you. At some point you have to let go. I'm trying my best to not only understand this but live it.

We are old now and his second wife died..I did pretty good when he was married to someone else..but my son built a house and has put us back together and now all the old feelings flood back as he continues to treat me with disrespect and expects me to honor him. People who knowingly and willingly harm others for their own personal gain believe that forgiveness is a weakness. They are wrong. If you forgive, you get the last laugh, because when you forgive them, and even praise them in spite of their evil deceits and manipulations, your act of compassion heaps Karma upon them. They really hate it when they screw you, and you thank them for it. That is not the reaction they were hoping for! People who cause harm want to provoke their victims to anger and revenge so they may profit by it, but instead, "pour hot coals over their heads" with a benign response, as Jesus taught. Jesus said, "love your enemies, forgive your enemies." When they exhibit no remorse or repentance and continue their malevolent behaviors, the Karmic backlash catches up with them. It boomerangs on them when we respond with compassion instead of anger. Never seek justice in anger because that is the true weakness, and bad people know it. Buddhist teachings are the best kept secrets! And as the Hindus say, forgive, and let Karma do its work.

It's Easy to say you should forgive. Forgiveness comes naturally you can force it. When it does happen though you don't even realise until you see that person and say to your self ''I don't hate u any more I feel sorry for you '' I have experienced this once in my life and I'm so grateful I have forgiven as it would mess with my head hating. To forget is a different story that's impossible xx

I had an epiphany on the thought that forgiveness is being weak, or a weakness. It suddenly occurred to me that it's very easy to not forgive someone. It's easy to allow the gravity of anger to pull you along this way and that. What's harder, clearly, is to forgive. It takes effort if someone is not accustomed to it. So to forgive someone is to show strength, and as with most feats of strength, the more you do it, the easier it becomes. But it is always a strength. Never a weakness. Thank you for your talk.

Listening to this video made me cry, and I had to pause before I typed this because I couldn't see for the tears. I've often felt that holding 9n to my pain and anger stopped me from living my life, and I believe in being a better person, so before I continued typing, I forgave my Ex for his treatment of me, but informed him I wouldn't forget this time. 🍒

This is so true. I found out the hard way that even a loving and forgiving person will still cheat and be hurtful to you while acting like they still love you. Through only trying to forgive others and not gaining any wisdom, they learn to seperate feelings from actions and will do the same hurtful things to you that have been done to them.

It's so true. A friend once couldn't forgive someone that hurt her badly. She kept reliving it and getting angry. I simply asked her how many times are you going to allow you to keep hurting you. By holding onto the anger she is continually hurt. The other person either doesn't care or is enjoying seeing them hurt over and over. At what point will she let go snd stop hurting herself? Forgiveness is a must. It help to move forward.

Be it known: Through the Holy Spirit, God has put it on me to preach to those lost in the devil's deceit! I tell ye, truly, Jesus of Nazareth is the propitiation for the whole world's sins. He is the anointed one, for he is, Jesus Christ. God the Father has raised him from the dead; who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God! Angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life: no one comes to the Father, but by him. They who believe and are baptized with the Holy Spirit shall be saved; but they who believe not shall be damned. For they who believe not on him, shall die in their sins! I tell ye now to repent of your sins, accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, and you'll receive the gift of the Holy Spirit upon asking the Father! There are *NO* sub-divisions of Christianity. You're either a disciple of Christ or not. A Christian is someone who follows God's word, not a religion. Who obey the Father and follow his will; not man's nor their own heart's. Unless you keep Jesus' commandments, think not the Holy Spirit will dwell within you! They who heed this message and did what was stated with an open heart to God... Read the Holy Bible (KJV) daily and every time before you read, pray to the Father and ask: "Lord I ask that you give me understanding of your word, that I interpret it the way you want me to, and none of my own. I ask you in Jesus' name, amen." 1 John 2:2 KJV 2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. Acts 13:26-33 KJV 26 Men and brethren, children of the stock of Abraham, *and whosoever among you feareth God, to you is the word of this salvation sent.* 27 *For they that dwell at Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they knew him not, nor yet the voices of the prophets which are read every sabbath day, they have fulfilled them in condemning him.* 28 And though they found no cause of death in him, yet desired they Pilate that he should be slain. 29 *And when they had fulfilled all that was written of him, they took him down from the tree, and laid him in a sepulchre.* 30 *But God raised him from the dead:* 31 And he was seen many days of them which came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are his witnesses unto the people. 32 *And we declare unto you glad tidings, how that the promise which was made unto the fathers,* 33 God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee. 1 Peter 3:22 KJV 22 Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him. John 14:6 KJV 6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. Mark 16:16 KJV 16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. John 8:24 KJV 24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins. Acts 2:38 KJV 38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Luke 11:13 KJV 13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him? John 14:21-24 KJV 21 *He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.* 22 Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world? 23 Jesus answered and said unto him, *If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.* 24 He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and *the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.*

Finally, the right answer where things come together in a logical way! Thank you for providing the "wisdom" component to this dilemma. I feel good about walking away and never returning, still feel the love I once felt but know that it is impossible to interact, and needed to know that once I have learned this time I will not need to repeat--here and in the future. 🙏🏼

I have Forgiven and let go all those people who have hurted me although they never realised their mistakes as they are always keen in finding faults in others than themselves ...But I am blessed with a large sensible heart but I don't want them back ever again in my life because their reactions depends on their mood and circumstances ..today good tomorrow they will end up behaving the same..if they are angry they feel they have the right to degrade any person....... And as we age emotionally we are unable to digest such craps ..We have to learn to protect our heart that is so emotional and vulnerable..it's always better to stay away...Let them be happy always..God bless them

I came to know Christ in jail in 2013 by reading a book, "Overcoming spiritual blindness" by James P. Gills MD. The veil was taken off my eyes. Heaven came through for me in my finances too, getting $25,000 monthly. I can support God's work and give back to my community. God is absolutely more than enough!

I find thar understanding those who may have hurt me naturally resolves the dense energy within me. You cant have true compassion without deeper understanding of the other person, and the understanding of what causes people to hurt one another. You can forgive when you feel compassion.

Forgiveness with wisdom- forgive people let go of anger and also forget what have they done. You can still stay away from their negativity and their life Forgiving them is actually forgiving yourself that you will be no longer involved on their lives you will no longer hold on anger and resentments anymore you will no longer hold thier negativity anymore as you love yourself and dont want to hurt yourself You always care about yourself, your spirituality and your thoughts You will only focussed on your life good qualities personal growth and will not hold this negativity that will ultimately hurt you SUMMARY: FORGIVING BY NO LONGER HOLDING ON GRUDGES AND NEGATIVITY THAT THEY EMIT BUT BY COMPLETELY IMMERSED ON YOUR OWN LIFE OWN WELAFARE AND OWN DEVELOPMENT

🤔Very interesting. I've never thought of forgiveness in this manner. It's brilliant! So much of the time, I am in my own head that the only thing driving my anger was what I looked at as things being done to me. It's amazing how much of our lives is negatively effected by our thoughts and feelings about ourselves. I really like the way you worded this. Thank you.

Thank you Bante, as I see it it's a gentle strengths approach towards persons around us who manipulate. I have kept from another teaching, 'anger will never, ever help you in anything with your life'. Next step is forgiveness. Letting go of toxic' safety', and moving on to what life delivers. It's usually better. Bante, many blessings and everyday merits, may you be well and happy🙏🕯️Namo Buddhaya

As the Buddha did with the angry man, he refused to accept the anger offered to him and left it with the other person. I have found it useful to consider the negative karma the person is accumulating and feel compassion for the inevitable and inexorable consequences that karma will have.
