I guess somewhat realistic if just trying to flip the truck, but putting in cheap parts that fail in a year or less is a risk in itself, not to mention how many specialized tools you need to complete and diagnose any job that would actually lead to some profit
@techwiz2410
@techwiz2410 2 жыл бұрын
@@RiverValleyLandscaping I agree with you.. the other thing I noticed from painting my own car is that if you spent less than 100 on your paint and 100 on your clear to do that job (if not more in chemicals) I can guarantee that paint will come off in less than 6 months. I understand it was already pre primered and that's ok.. but basecoat and clearcoat is very expensive if done correctly.. That's also using a 2k multi stage paint not a 1k cheap junk paint.. and if it was sprayed with a rattle can paint.... I feel for the new owner as this in nothing but a band aide... I'm mechanically inclined myself and it does take a good tool to find all of these problems with the vehicle. I give cudos to the creator for being inventive with finding the ECU company and ABS module... and honestly all parts anymore are made a bit junky... no matter if it comes from the dealer.. but I have to mention the poor paint job.. I'm repainting my entire 370z car and would never do what was done here.. unless I wanted to repaint it again in less than 6 months. I can assure that the hood that costed 200 should be the cheap part.. the paint and clear should cost more than that hood... I've good buddys that paint for a living and spend 500 on a gallon of paint and 550 on a gallon of clear.. and thats still not the most expensive..... I realize also you dont need a full gallon.. but would take a quart minimum.. since you're not buying it in a bulk amount (by the gallon) the quart would cost more say $100 in basecoat. plus you still have to buy the reducer and activator for some paints... then the clearcoat is approx 100 plus the activator another 75 to 100 there.. Yea.. again.. I like the video and don't mean to bash at all.. but the paint part..... is unrealistic.. or just not quality.. whichever it is or both...

Yeah not like he's recording himself and putting it on the internet, definitely wouldn't want to make himself look better. All car flippers are the same, cheap bandaid fixes then put up for market value as if there's nothing wrong. Just the same thing as used car dealerships. Scummy little scammers, all of them. Not to mention they take all the cheap cars and inflate the market with trash boxes.

what do you do about taxes, title, registration, notary fees, document fees and insurance? I get every state is different, as I'm in PA and we can't get away with title jumping or its huge fines or worse. THEY want their tax money over and over again so the little guy, like me, cannot get ahead. It works.. I tried flipping a few and that stuff always hits my profit margin HARD. taxes are killer. It is very difficult to sell a vehicle that isn't currently registered and insured..(buyer wants to know why its not roadworthy) we also have to deal with safety inspections and some counties require emissions.. and to get it inspected...... you guessed it, needs to be currently registered and insured. all added costs. so if I am able to find a GREAT deal on a vehicle, it usually only makes me a few hundred dollars, not thousands. Not even worth my time. Need a dealer's licence to really be profitable and a license is damn near impossible to obtain in PA. Great content in your video. Appreciate what you're doing. I would not be able to accomplish your profit on this exact vehicle.

He isn't doing any of that... bc if he was, the DMV enforcement would be all over him after a certain length of time... You can get away with it for a while, and lots do, but once you stop getting away with it, the DMV cops are NOT NICE about it, nor are the judges. And, this is a TRUE STORY.. just happened about 2 weeks ago, just before Christmas. A potential buyer went on a test drive and got in a wreck. Minor wreck, but he hit the car in front of him while taking a left turn, and barely hit the bumper of the car in front of him. BUT, the driver in the other car immediately called the cops, demanded insurance, and claimed her neck hurt. It happens, and if you're doing it like this guy, one little stupid thing like that, and you're f****d. The DMV cops will be all over you, and they don't play nice, nor do the judges, or the taxing authorities for not paying sales tax, or your insurance company folks It can get really ugly, really fast.

I want to do this but the state says you need a location that’s not a residence and all this other stuff if you want to sell more than 5 cars a year. I just found your channel and it’s probably the best car flipping channel I’ve seen. No silly music and no bullshit, just straight to the point. I love how you tell the down sides as well. I hope to get 90’s Chevy or gmc and flip like you do. Those trucks just don’t get the attention they deserve.

This series is amazing. This would honestly be a dream job for me. I recently fell in love with fixing my car but I don’t know nearly enough about cars to make any major repairs. Living vicariously through you

I'm going to college and will inevitably have to buy a car. I'm studying CS and MechE so why not buy a fixer upper. How well would you say this truck will do now? For atleast 5 years down the line?

Really great video that earned a sub! I can tell that you really did put a lot of hours into this. Question: What do you do with the net profits? How much of it do you use to invest in the next vehicle, and how much do you keep for things like bills and personal income? Thanks!

Awesome videos, been itching to pick up another vehicle after daily driving and then flipping a cheap truck I got while I was restoring my actual daily. I appreciate you breaking down all the time invested realistically but I’m curious the amount of days it took you to complete this project? (from purchase to sale). All the best, cheers

You do an amazing job man! but I have a question, in my case I have a Suzuki sx4 wich I can't buy new parts for because they're not anymore in Canada. What do you think about junkyard parts? I had to go get a couple of them and usually have no problems!

This is what I do on the side. I usually stick around the 2-3k price range for my self when buying and usually invest 1k minimum. Usually sell for about 6-7k. I always set aside the profit, then go back in again with the original 2-3k. Easy 10-12k profit a month if you can roll one every week.

What do you do about dealer restrictions? I've been looking into doing this, but most states restrict you to selling 5 or 10 a year unless you've got a dealer's license.

While I do appreciate all the solid repairs you did you could’ve saved a ton by going to an LKQ or picknpull yard for majority of this stuff. And as for the ABS module there’s repair companies that warranty their work and it’s usually about 1/3 the cost of a new module.

Well done sir - straight to the highlights without dragging out. I have a strong interest in doing a flip like this as well...just not as proficient with engine/chassis repair so, I'd probably lose a good chunk of profit paying someone to outsource it.

Really enjoy watching your content my man, you do great work with great details of all of it!! This is exactly the type of things I wanna start doing soon as I can get some money for a scan tool and maybe few other items before going with it. I've always been around this type of stuff growing up with my step-dad doing it but that was also before technology came as far as it has but im coming up on 40yrs old and just tired of working for someone to help them be successful and this is something I wish I had started doing so much sooner in life, unfortunately I just wSnt in the position to do so till about a yr ago. That all said im open to all and anyone's advice to help me become successful in taking the next step towards my dreams of working for myself, once again great content and thank you for sharing your experiences!!

That pickup at 3:50 listed for $20k has a duramax diesel badge on it and only 88k miles. Thats actually cheaper then what something like that seems to go for currently being a diesel with that low of miles.

Bro even though the hood came preprimed you still have to sand the hood with 600-800 grit sandpaper blow it off then wipe it with solvent. Then you can paint on it you sand it so that way the paint has something to hook on to in a sense otherwise that paint will just start peeling right off

I was able to get a 2004 tahoe for 1000$ and its also a 4 wheel drive, the seller informed me that it runs but it loses power so he decide to part it out and I caught it just in time and all that was sold is the alternator and the seats which arent hard to come by at all, I may flip it but I haven't decied yet. It does have mild rust on the rocker panel, and on the rear quarter panel it has a spot the size of a baseball.
