campsite a The Glock is respectable in its own right. Other than pushing the Glock, you will not get all that different training between Gunsite, Tactical response, and Valor Ridge. One can only suspect that Reid has refined his course to give you what Yeager would not. Look forward to hearing what Reid is doing differently.

campsite a I would like to hear Reids words on this. Gunsite went down hill for years until an old student bought it and sought to restor it to the Late Col. Cooper's standard.

campsite a I personally embrace Gunsite. Attending Gubsite is on by "Bucket List" And I would agree with you when it comes to Gunsite vs TR or Valor Ridge. The Yeager vs Heinrichs was indeed a soap opera. Patriot Nurse took a course at TR, fell in love, and Reid broke one of the cardinal rules. Specifically "No relationships with staff, students, or alumni". This was kind of the straw that broke the camels back. There were many other differences they had and his romance with Patriot nurse was the spark which ignited the gasoline spill so to speak. Reid, by his own admission is not a combat veteran. He was Nuclear weapons security at the Trident Submarine base in Kings Bay GA. Having been a Submariner myself, I have witnessed what these Marines go through. They get the best tactical training available but end up doing an "Outstanding job!' As in "Outstanding in the hot sun, rain, snow etc." They also have to put up with a lot of spit and polish B.S. So I have some experience obout what Reid went through

I really feel sorry you want to defend such a moron(Quote) If you believe he is such a moron, then why do you watch his videos? I like to hear all sides of the equation. While James and Reid have a lot to say, I still believe that Cooper is the standard. One of the things I disareee with Reid on is his "Rifleman class" Having people with AK's and AR's. AK's and AR's belong in a "Combat carbineclass" Not a rifleman class.

After many overpriced, crappy or just nomadic barbers. I bought a oster hair clipper set for $80 and now cut my own hair, average savings=$46/month. After getting tired of overpaying for crappy food at work I started just buying the smallest soup cup, a banana and tap water for $2 total a day and eating a full meal at home average savings=$60/month and lost 20 pounds without the hassle of brown bagging. I quit my cigar a day luxury, average savings=$250/month. Result: just built my dream AR for $1600.00 that given the list of components would have cost ~$2200 if factory built, buy all the ammo I need, etc. So yes cut out the bullshit, set your priorities and enjoy shooting and better yet your wife or "significant other" can't say shit when you spend those savings🍻

Plain Jane That's the rub, she doesn't. Which is a pity because she is a natural. In our honeymoon (time flies 40years ago), one of the resort group activities was a trip to a gun range. Long story short she won the women's the trap and pistol shoot, having never fired a shotgun or pistol before, as we lived in NYC then.🍻

Wow I can relate to everything. I make like 720/mo and I didnt have a car, so saved money there, only 2 things I HAD to pay for was 620/mo rent in a motel room at the Elms in Winchester Va. And managed my drinks, meals and watched the same set of DVDs for 3 months before I could afford my M4-A2 Bushmaster. Was totally worth it. I dont make much more now but my life is So much better. I got a '13 truck for Christmas, an acre of land, nice little lake house in sc and a Woman and a dog that love me. So glad I no longer have to walk a mile to get food. Didnt have a vehicle for 8 yrs. Walking everywhere for 8 yrs. Thanks be to God for my life.

I hear you regarding budgeting. When I was a substitute teacher I only made $9800 a year working 5 days a week, while bouncing between 7 schools, and coaching baseball. I did that for three full years before I decided to try a new profession. I cooked my own food, repaired or made everything that I could instead of buying commercial, and generally did everything I could myself. I'm grateful for that experience.

Great info... especially the part about spending money on nice to have/do stuff vs stuff you actually need. I always get a kick out of people who are surprised that I'll spend money on range time but don't bat an eye at going golfing every weekend. I've got nothing against golf, but coming in below par never saved stopped a home invasion or a mugging.

I completely agree with the "buy once, cry once" mentality for getting a defensive arm. I essentially bankrupted myself buying my M9. But I've had literally zero issues with all the rounds I've fired through it. The gun is an excellent shooter and was well worth the financial hurt at the time.

Great subject! I was once could only afford a hi point and a box a month to feed it but dry firing and manipulation drills were a staple. I was laughed at ridiculed and disrespected because I didn't have a more expensive gun. I learned to optimize the gun I had and can still shoot that c9 as good as my glocks. Though my finances have majority chAnged I still am thankful for having to be content with what I had and having the right defensive mindset. There Is a lot of great advice in this video.

Good video thanks! I wish I can follow up with practice and drills I've learned from the classes I've taken. Most shooting ranges here in CT will not allow you to draw a holstered firearm. And I fully understand and respect the rules of these ranges. The most I can do is at a low ready position.

Great ideas and info, hits home because I'm on a tight budget myself. What works for me and this is just an example, when it comes to ammo is to constantly buy it like a grocery. It's hard when you're on a budget to save 60 to 120 bucks to buy in bulk sometimes because you have to spend the money on other things a lot. So for me what I do is for training is I buy the 9mm federal aluminum for 10 bucks a box at Wally world, try to every time I go in. That adds up over a couple weeks and doesn't hurt as much as 100 bucks. Then I'm just in a state of replacing what I shoot every week like milk in the fridge. Of coarse my self defense ammo is not as cheap but the same principle can be applied based off of need that week. You hit the nail on the head with a quality firearm selection. My Glock eats up any ammo I feed it, and you can get a new one for around 500 bucks. If I were to try that with some other pistols my method might not be as successful with the cheap ammo. Smith and wesson,Sig, Ruger, H&K the list goes on they all make good reliable duty tested guns, I love my Glock but I don't mean to say that it's the end all. I've found however that the stryker fired guns seem to be both the most reliable and cost effective too for all of us on a budget. I can get the same performance with all ammo out of my 500 dollar stryker fired gun of a proven platform, as I can with a $1200 SA/DA Sig or HK. Just gotta budget and make good purchases that will save you in the long run sometimes.

Check out your local conservation clubs and see if they offer any training. The one I belong to has training twice per month taught by law enforcement officers, NRA trained instructors and retired marines. We learn how to shoot on the move, shooting with both hands, all kinds of things. The best part is, it is free and just for women. It is all paid for with grant dollars. It's fun and I've made many new friends with all different kinds of skill sets. We shoot all different kinds of guns too. It was the first place I ever locked and loaded my AR and shot it.

My SKS here's my favorite rifle. Sights dead on, shoots like nobody's business. The rear elevation sites seem to be dead on. And with the stripper Clips really fast to reload. I have had the rifle since 1997 and have shot more than 10,000 rounds through it and have never had to clean it. Has never jammed on me and it sure it's better than anything I have ever owned. Even better than my AR-15. Or my Remington 742, or any of the other 12 long guns that I own.

Nobody should diss training. But the essential is practice, practice, practice! You must put the training to use or you are wasting your time and money! There are skills I learnt years ago that are buried somewhere in my mind and body but I would not want to rely on them. All because I have not practiced them. When I was a Firefighter we drilled night or day EVERY day! Not because we did not know how to use the kit but to keep that knowledge fresh and we ran scenarios to simulate the application of those skills. Whilst I still have most of that knowledge I would have to think twice about application. There is no time to think twice in a gunfight!!

I've been shooting less, but finally took my first training course. Going to the range, standing in your lane, and just blasting holes in paper can be fun, but it doesn't do anything for me except entertain. I've been stocking ammo for a while now, and plan to continue as long as I can. Ammo is cheap now, and I've been taking advantage of that because who knows what the future brings with the election less than 2 weeks out. It's still fun taking inexperienced shooters to the range and going shooting with friends, or even teaching some brand new shooters the basics of safe gun handling, shooting, and gun operation, but just going to the range and putting 250+ holes in a piece of paper shooting bulls eyes isn't doing you much except entertaining you. Of course you need to practice what you train, but endless target shooting for fun when you have limited funds is counter-productive.

Hi Mr. Henrichs, long time subscriber but this is my first comment on your channel. I was wondering if you had any thoughts on the un-ratified first amendment. The short of it is that would have limited the size of congressional districts to 30,000 people. Where we currently sit is an average constituency of 700,000 people per district. It is still pending before the states. I may be wrong but as I see it a lack of representation in Congress is a major cause of federal problems. Hell, Pakistan is at 60k per district. Anyway, love everything you do. Keep doing what you're doing, people are waking up to the environment that we have been in forever.

Reid, has anyone come through your classes with a Smith and Wesson SD9VE? I know that it's almost a copy of a Glock and Glock sued Smith and Wesson for that very reason. is it a good pistol that I can trust to be there when I need it. I know you say not to buy cheap guns and I agree to a point. cheaply made guns might not work all the time but I also know that it's good to find good prices when you can. the SD9VE is a 9mm pistol that holds 16 rounds and comes apart like a Glock. the price is around $300 brand new and not on sale. what are your thoughts on this pistol, and would you recommend it to someone who needs a pistol and everything else for concealed carry including the permit (because I'm under 21 until January)

You've got the hookup and clout. Brandon deserves a Rifle Dynamics AK. What would be even better, and more fitting, is sending him to a Rifle Dynamics AK builders class.

A good amount of people are not hot when it comes to shooting and hitting fast moving targets so or shooting on the move so class might be able to train you on that.

Also I can second his training comments, when you are scared you always end up relying on training.

I would recommend fasting before downgrading meat quality. meat is bad enough for you as it is. where I save money is bulk shopping and not buying from convenient stores. buy once cry once is solid advice.

I buy at least one box of pistol and rifle ammo per month no matter what. my friends and relatives know to either give me a gift card or ammo for birthdays and Christmas. I do get more than the one box as I run into sales and bargains I have a checking account I use just for my habit. but the one box rule is an always thing no matter if I need 9t or not.
