My budgie’s nails are growing long, i know you can buy clippers but he’s not hand tamed yet he will only get on my finger and also hand feed. Should I take him to the vet if they get too long? Thank you any budgie experts 🐤💞

I place thick and soft perch in the cage so when they move, they trim the claws/nails. When I took them to the vet, he said nails are OK 😋 just two longer. Some birds have really long nerves so their nails can't be clipped, just like my sister's bird. Denny has small nerves but his nails are growing very slow, because of good perches.

I can not believe you paid 20 mark for all of this. I went to the vet with my birdy not too long ago and paid at least 60 euros just to kill it. My bird was very sick and did not have any chance to survive so the vet suggested to just let it sleep (so it got vaccinated and died 😭) Weird to pay money to kill something o.o 🤧 but its better than to leave it alone to suffer and have alot of pain :-(
