this person has her own youtube channel with tons of videos of prince getting into trouble, and at one point they pranked the bird by gluing the glasses to the cabinet shelf. prince is just hopping around trying to move them and chirping with frustration when they won't fall. she's not the first bird i've seen to have a penchant for pushing stuff off elevated surfaces cat-style, and i'm convinced this is a trait among animals that are... less susceptible to gravity. the concept of something just falling and shattering on the ground is so alien to them they're fascinated by watching it happen.

Back story from Tamia, Prince's mum: she used to have a bird growing up named Princess, after years together, Princess passed away. Then, Tamia got Prince. At first, they thought it was a male so they named it Prince. One day, they found Prince have laid an egg 😂 Thus the name became Princetopher, with Prince as a nickname.

My sister has a large macaw that will fight you for your plate if you don’t fix him one. And it has to be the same food, you can’t just fix a plate with “bird” food on it. If it’s not the same he’ll ignore it and come after yours. And let me tell you it hurts like hell when he bites you when you try to stop him.

I wouldn't advise that, I got a Hahn's Macaw after reading about a spirited little bird, I love him to pieces but they're with you for years - it's alot more to owning them than you might think. It's a long commitment & yes they love all kinds of whole fruits/veg - do not feed junk food - chocolate & avocado (and xylitol) are toxic

Just in case you were serious about wanting one... If you didn't know birds like people food, might I suggest doing a *ton* of research first, before "getting one" The best pet parents, best *bird* pet parents don't generally just *wing* it or learn on the *fly* (puns intended) Happy, health well rounded birds take a lot of time and work... a lot! If you were just happily reacting to a fun, lovely, mischievous lady and wishing or dreaming, out loud like many of us, that we wish we had one (but not seriously) and just reacting with the joy to this video?... This bird seems to be happy, because it has active parents keeping engaged with it and letting it fly, but I learned from early on, that love birds (like probably most other birds) definitely need to be kept in pairs. Hope nobody just buys them and keeps them alone.

On her channel she explained that they tried to get a partner for Prince, but she did not get along with any of them. I also have a single lovebird who got bullied by every bird we tried to pair him with. Sometimes birds just don't get along with each other

I adore this bird! Lovies are my #1! I was ‘found’ by a baby lovie in 1996 and she came at a time when I needed something. She changed, possibly saved my life. Because of her and the many lovies after her, I left a real job with good pay and benefits to work at a non profit parrot sanctuary. I call all the birds in the lovebird aviary mine!

My family has a conur (also a small bird) and the conur likes to be in the kitchen where the action is during the day and likes to spend time inside a tipped over little opaque plastic bucket on the counter. Seems it likes the combination of coziness yet lets the light through and can kinda see through as well. Takes cozy naps on old pieces of cloth put in that kitchen 'nest' .
