Good lesson. I took Tae Kwon Do in my younger days from a Teacher who taught opposition power. Doing two different things at the same time with your hands,blocking and striking. It works.

You’re gonna have people tell you that no one comes in with a straight knife thrust like your partner did, but I can tell you from personal experience that people do come in with that straight middle thrust to the stomach. It was done to me by an abusive relative. And what saved me was years of repetition of knife defense drills. So yeah, I’ve been there and can tell you that knife defense drills do work. But you have to practice them over and over and over. And after that, practice them some more.

Yes, Wing Chun however is a much older system. Krav maga is about 70% Wing Chun, accept Krav Maga still uses too much brute physical force and is therefore disadvantageous against a much larger opponent.

Far far far too risky. Wing chun doesnt even work vs someone even remotely competent with their hands. Now you're trying to trap and block a knife? Forget it. One slash of the arteries and it's game over. 1/run at every oppertunity you can. 2/ strike at distance 3/try to get wrist control if he is close so he can't stab. Always trying to get back to running away. Forget all these fancy arm bollocks. I'll get an electric knife and I bet my life you'll get a lot of shocks if you try and do that stuff. It's dangerous, it gives people false confidence. Anyone with any sense isn't going to slash like an npc. They're going to take your arm out first if they see you trying to grab.
