For everyone wondering, im doing something kinda similar. It seems like for this weight loss, it would be chicken and broccoli 2 times a day, mixed with intermittient fasting (16 off - 8 on), while only drinking water. Maybe some snacks in the middle, but making sure to stay lowish on carbs so the ketosis kicks in during the fast.

I did very low carbs for a week and I was weak as heck. I felt good and energized while I was doing my daily routine but as soon as I hit the gym, it was game over. I was fatigued, weak, and had no motivation whatsoever. Low carbs is not for me.

Ditto for cabbage, kale, bok choy, collard greens, radishes, mustard greens, chard, rutabaga, turnips, watercress, arugula, and horseradish. Hint: they, along with broccoli, cauliflower, and Brussels sprouts, are all members of the Cruciferous family of vegetables. [cruciferous from Latin relating to crucifixion as their four-leaves arrangement resembles the Cross]. Note: green beans, asparagus, and spinach are not cruciferous. Also note: these same vegetables are part of a larger group that are high in “goitrogens” (because they can contribute to the condition of goiter-a condition that affects the thyroid gland). Excessive consumption of cruciferous (and other goitrogenic foods) vegetables may interfere with your thyroid’s ability to process iodine leading to hypothyroidism so it’s important on these crash diets of “chicken and broccoli” to make sure you’re using salt that has iodine supplementation (regular table salt does but Sea Salt has insufficient amounts of iodine). ONE OF THE MAIN SYMPTOMS OF EARLY HYPOTHYROIDISM IS FEELING TIRED.

I came here to learn a little more. Im considering the chicken broc diet as a baseline to feed myself while i add one food as a time. I want to see how certain foods really make me feel such as tomatoes, grains esp wheat, and various types of sugar. Theres not much better way that i can think of. You can grind chicken and use it like hamburger. You can serve on or off the bone. Broth seems fair. And there is a flavor difference between white and dark meat. One thing to anyone considering this diet is that cruciferous vegetables aka brassicae (look them up) are all genetically the same exact food including brocolli. They were bred from the same ancestral plants for accentuated root, stems, leaves, and flowers. So it seems fair to me that you could branch out beyond just broc....cauliflower, cabbage, kale, turnips, brussell sprouts, bok choy. There are lots more and nutritionally....they are all exactly the same. Why not include them? As for flavor agents they can take you off the rails if you arent careful and then your whole experiment is sabotaged. But if you cant flavor your foods then you might not last either. Ya need something to keep things interesting. Coconut oil and olive oil are considered pretty healthy by most. Then theres fresh herbs...basil parsley dill etc. Chili peppers, onions, garlic, and lemons and limes may contain some sugars but pack big flavors and are very healthy too. Dried spices would prob be fair game too. Paprika, crushed red, cinnamon, black pepper etc. Vary your flavor profiles with your cooking methods. Grilled, sauteed, air fried, stir fried, boiled, steamed.... If you are creative you can make it work.

Ive been eating chicken and broccoli as my fundamental staple meal prep for about 5 years now, consistently every week. For carb I add about 120 cal of wild rice during the winter, and pasta during the summer. With that, I've had to get creative to keep things palatable because otherwise it gets to the point where you feel like you're eating wood chips and tree bark. That means preparing the chicken minimally, and using sauces to create different styles and flavors ... I can do BBQ chicken, chicken pesto, chicken marinara, chicken soup, chicken tacos, buffalo chicken, teryaki chicken, korean chicken, etc. I also eat pizza every weekend to save my sanity and carb load back in. Seems to work ok, but it still feels very restrictive. Wish I could just eat a burger or big fat burrito, but thats the sacrifice I make to look and feel good

I did this for a week as well but I added a cup of riced cauliflower, ate different meats, and I only ate one meal a day, 23:1. Every day I was only taking in about 20-30 carbs, 160-190g of protein, and around 100g of fat but I wasn't really paying attention to it as I was focused on utilizing the fasting period to burn excess fat all day through the low carb aspect. I saw a pretty big impact on the last bit of fat I had around my lower back and stomach. I wanted to keep it going because I really felt like it was going to eventually get me to a really low BFP and finally get rid of the last 5% of body fat that I felt would get me to 12-15%. But it was just not something that I felt was worth it. I consider myself someone who can eat just about anything as long as I can get one meal a week that is anything I want. But I found out within two weeks of this that I am not that person lol. What actually ended up happening was that I finally felt good about not needing to get to that point and even if I did it was not sustainable anyway. In a sense, it finally made me feel good about all the progress I have made and that the fitness magazine look was an insane goal, especially in my late 40s. I found out that I want to look as good as possible, be as healthy as possible, without my entire lifestyle revolving around diet and exercise. Now I don't even track macro's. I maintain as close to a deficit as needed to not gain nor lose. And I dropped a few exercises per week. Basically this extreme diet allowed me to balance out and get the perfect diet and exercise routine for me.

I started at almost 280, 6 foot. When I started I was calorie counting , alternating days between 1500 and 2000 calories of general stuff, not neccesarily clean, and ensuring I was at least walking 10,000 steps a day. Since I have a desk job and didn't clear 1500 steps a day prior, and tended to binge eat at night or otherwise just consume without regard, the weight dropped off. I dropped 35 lbs in 70 days. Currently I am hoving in the mid-230s as I try to switch to a more sustainable eating methodology beyond "eat less", such as cleaner meals overall and alternative snacks that still give some of what I crave. I have also started weight training and some more intense cardio now that my bodyweight isn't so high. I have been mid-230s for 13 years of my adult life before getting a desk job and putting on another 30-40 lbs. Never cared what I was eating, so long as it tasted good. Even being back down to 230 feels amazing as I just feel lighter and more energetic on the my days off work. Looking at the Buff Dudes I also see how much more I can achieve. If they are 2 inches taller than I am, but weigh the same or less and look SO MUCH BETTER, I know I can hit my target of 200 flat. I don't want to be as hyper trophied, but I do want to work on a "strong man" style physique eventually.

Some people might not appreciate that but to me it separates you HUGELY not even from just other health/workout channels that don’t do anything creative with editing, but even KZbin channels in GENERAL that do a vlog type thing. I think a lot of people just film their day and whatever the plan is for the video, then slap it together and put music behind it (or have an editor do it) then post it and get millions of views. That’s fine and all but you’re going the extra mile and I guarantee it’ll pay off i mean obviously it has already to a degree you’re clearly super successful with this

Loved the video guys. Inspired and starting it immediately. I’m in good shape but I do not watch what I eat. Blessed but I’m curious how much better I can look in a short time (before a beach trip!) with 7 days on this. 💪🏼 Thanks for the inspiration! More diet videos! 🙏🏼

11:10 this scene should have been so hard to film, you eating in slow motion to make it look like you eat normally when the video is played in fast motion 😅😂💪

@Tony Orellana if you watch him closely you can see that his chewing speed is very high, so i realy think this time lapse scene was taken in one shot, with him eating in slow motion ( but his chewing was not slow enough to make it look like he was chewing at a normal speed after the time lapse)

I will say, for about a year I was having steamed chicken breast, broccoli, and white rice for my dinner meal (with protein oatmeal being my breakfast and eggs and spinach being my lunch, with some snacks between meals), I can definitely say that, while I really leaned out and dropped some serious weight (when I started 2019 I weighed close to 215 and by the end I weighed around 187), I will concur that my physical strength pretty much stayed at a consistently meh level and any significant strength improvements were few and far between. That said, that period of time was probably the time I felt most confident about my appearance.

Chimps can process fructose with all the cells in their body, and we can only do it with our livers. Also their intestines are proportionally larger than ours in order to process all the fiber in their diet. Still, in terms of raw macros, the ratio of fat to carb to protein is similar to what would be ideal for humans

Recently ate 3 eggs burritos every morning on keto wraps. 2xs put some ham on them but always added cheese. Then for dinner ate chicken and brocoli for 7 days. Dropped 9lbs in 7 days. Also walked 6 miles a day. Went from 317 to 308

Because of severe food allergies directly related to health issues, I have to eat chic and a veggie of some kind every single day. It's life. Lost 25 pounds in 4 months plus a new job that's very physically demanding. Can't seem to gain back what I lost. maybe I'm lucky. Or maybe I'm 57 years old and looking forward to more weight loss and muscle gain.
