DIABLO & DOC RECIPE: Brown some hamburger in a frying pan, drain the grease, and then dump the meat in a crock pot. Next, pour in your fav bbq sauce and chop an onion, too. Put that in the crock. Add a can of mexicorn, some jalapeño peppers and put them in the crock, too. Stir and cook and cover for a couple hours. After it's done, with an ice cream scoop, scoop out a load of Diablo and dump it on a seedless hamburger bun. Serve it up with a can of DP. Diablo & Doc. Happy eating!

Of all the scenes I recall of this movie when I watch this film years ago this stood out the most - Gleason was a master of improv and comedic timing, this scene is certainly an example of that. Thanks for the post!!!

Jackie Gleason is timeless. His scenes in Smokey & the Bandit are so hilarious! If you watch the scene again you can see Burt Reynolds trying not to laugh. He truly was "The Great One". Sadly missed indeed.

I grew up in the county where most of the movie was filmed, ate at the old hickory house (this scene is there) a lot with my grandparents on weekends as a little kid ..It's a highway ramp now on the way to the airport.. course now that whole county is a ghetto slum..demographics tell the truth.
