Another good video. I think it's a great idea to taste drinks before making a choice. I found when trying out Electrolyte drinks that some (Gatoraid) give me heartburn, but others (Gookinaid, now Vitolyte, and Sqwincher) don't .. The kind of discovery that is better made at home than on an extended trip or survival situation Thanks for the great series

@ThatDifferentGuy: I say yes to the apples -- as long as they are available! When they're not, or when they not feasible, use the more field expedient packets of coffee. Thanks for sharing that bit of knowledge, however -- I didn't know that! I say use BOTH in their appropriate settings. Many blessings, brother --GM

@rangerdanger222: Excellent! Also, another brand to consider--which I carry in my Medical Trauma Bag--is Jianas Brothers 'Oral Rehydration Salts.' It's actually for more severe cases of dehydration, but worth mentioning for the consideration of some. Many blessings --GM

I'd also recommend protein drinks, both in powder or condensed liquid forms. There's alot of options on these at your local stores and they have great energy and nutritional value.

Last time I went backpacking I premixed chocolate carnation instant breakfast and dry milk and ended up having it as a warm vitamin packed drink in the morning. It turned out excellent. Kind of tasted like hot chocolate but extra milky. Really got me up and going in a chilly morning as someone who isn’t a big coffee drinker.

Awesome vid. I like the nescafe hazelnut flavoring myself. :) I'm a hazelnut fun, good stuff. I will have to try the starbucks, not a big fan of the store bought stuff, but might be worth a good try and the vitalyte sounds very good also. Thanks for the information, loving it!

@pdlumina: Thanks for your comment! It may be because two different individuals are tasting and narrating respectively. Not all my observations are based on nutrition alone, however -- I likewise factor in weight (which was the entire purpose of this 6-video series to begin with), portability, ease of use, and reputation of each product. --GM

@jplerwill you can allways just crush a no doz tablet or a similar type of caffine tablet in to whatever your drinking, be carefull though, sometimes its easier to just take the tablet, as they have a bitter taste that ruins whatever your drinking. be warned though, if you do this, when the affects ware off, you are gonna crash pretty hard. also, check out those v and red bull energy shots, dont taste great, but do the job, dont exceed the daily dosage though, can be dangerous, hope that helps.
