This whole stretch issue has been a game-changer for me. Even during the reps where I don't have perfect form, as long as I feel that stretch at the bottom I always get a great pump and am making more gains with less weight. My flexibility has also improved, which has always been a weak point.

I've adopted this pushdowns to deficit pushups superset after it showed up in another video, and it's totally soul crushing. Love it.
@doesstuffoutside
@doesstuffoutside 11 ай бұрын
Triceps are definitely the limiting factor. I usually hit three sets of skull crushers before moving in to this superset, so there's already a decent amount of fatigue going in. I'd imagine if you weren't getting enough tricep engagement for them to be the limiter, you're either not hitting a high enough RIR on the pushdowns or you need to narrow up your hands on the pushups.@ednigma5

What's up Mike. I've done a version of this for a while now with great results.. what I do, I si have two chairs set up in front of my dryer , so I can kind of be a slight decline.. then I can spread the chairs apart just enough or more to be able to go down really far and get a great stretch. It really blows up your chest like Hiroshima .. and you can get even more of a Decline than what you guys get on those little girly boxes.. Tip for you Mike... When doing the box pushups... Put a bench under your feet so it becomes more of a Decline press..

🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation: 01:31 💪 The cambered bar bench press is a key exercise for chest and triceps. Descend slowly and maximize the stretch under load. 05:22 🏋️‍♂️ Incline dumbbell presses target the clavicular portion of the pecs. Focus on a deep stretch and aim for higher reps (10-20) due to dumbbell instability. 09:34 🏋️‍♀️ When doing a chest-triceps workout, consider doing more triceps volume (4-5 sets) at the end to ensure adequate stimulus, especially if you're already fatigued from chest exercises. 12:57 💡 Focus on controlled eccentrics and isolation exercises like cable tricep push-downs followed by compound movements like tricep push-ups to maximize tricep volume and muscle failure. never seen a cambered bar before. Seems so simple yet effective. For similar focus on depth Ive been using incline bar bell press with the bracers set up on the sides. I start at the bottom of the movement - which also helps for safety since failure just means the weights just rest down on the bracers which they would have anyways.

I LOVE heavy low reps Inc dB press, literally transformed my pecs.i used to have really underdeveloped upper pecs probably years of bad posture. I do even slower than these guys though. If I go faster I lose the mind muscle connection to my upper pecs. I've tried higher reps but due to the ultra slow negatives I fatigue so quickly and my tonnage ends up being much lower. Sets of 5 if my sweet spot. Example I can do 42kg x 5,5,5,4 drop set 35 x 8 If I start with 35kg I do 10,8,5.. then drop off a cliff. In theory I like the idea of higher rep dumbells but it just doesn't work for me. In fact give me high rep barbell press any day

The last superset with the tricep pushdown followed by the pushup has me wondering about one of the prior video (January 11, 2023) about supersetting which discussed that the compound movement should ideally have 3-degrees of freedom in the joints, not the 2-degrees of freedom from a push up. How does that principal work in relation to the superset in this video?
