The first thing l noticed was that this was not about promoting fancy schmancy bushcraft tools. Also, this was a very good demonstration of the sort of hustle we need to have for this sort of survival conditons. Well done.

@@MrIrdatlan incorrect. My cats have always been far more interested in me and what I’m doing than my dogs have ever been. They also like to lay with me as opposed to my current dog who prefers to lay alone on the couch.

Absolutely LOVED this video. Since a kid, I've worked in & immersed myself in the outdoors; the Boy Scouts was a natural progression. From orienteering, building shelters, fires, traps, identifying edible plants, filtering water... it's immeasurably satisfying to know you can step off the grid whenever you want & live... comfortably.

Thicker side sticks on the walls are needed. Along with a much denser layer of twiggy material, leaves, soil, more twigs before that moss goes on. Otherwise rain will seep right through it.

It is a hut for hor and dry summer. Rain comes through thr roof. Insects Come through thr door. Living there in winter is impossble at all. It is a hut for a playground.

Best one i ever saw was 40 years ago on the side of a hill dug out like a hobbit hole. Warm in the winter, cool in the summer. Someone used it to hunt from.

This has excellent stealth value but seems to have limited use. If it rains for example, water will go straight through the moss. Great insulation in dry conditions and even better in winter with snow on it. Just depends on when and how you plan to use it.

I would have piled more twigs and some leaves over the wooden frame, put a layer of dirt on top, and then the moss.

@@existenceisrelative Well, depending on the type of cheese. If we're talking something like American Yellow Cheddar or blue cheese, that goes on the very top. But if it's mozzarella or aged Irish cheddar, yes over the marinara.

I would put more bushes on it for stealth value. As to rain dripping through, it shows that one of your best friends is a good tarp. Build this over it.
