Build Your Own Custom Radiator Hoses

We've got a step by step, DIY tutorial for you today. We'll be showing you how to DIY your own radiator hoses for your LS swap or diesel conversion.
Custom radiator hoses are often needed when you're adapting a stock radiator to an engine swap. This could be an LS, Cummins, or Ford Coyote. An easy way to create these is by making a wire template that simulates the center line of the radiator hose and having your local exhaust shop bend it up for you. We'll show you how to do that in this video.

Perfect. I was just looking at my modified engine in my Vette. My brand new radiator hose is coming nowhere near where the old (TPI) outlet was. This is just the info I needed. Never saw those Gates Shrink Clamps before. The only thing missing was I would have liked to see how that bead was rolled into the pipe. I'm pretty sure I've never seen bead like that in an exhaust shop.

this popped up in my subscription feed at the perfect time, i had planned on making one like this. i froze some water in my tube and the bend turned out real nice, im in the middle of making a bead roller for it but i plan to powder coat it and use the heat shrink on it. thanks for the video yours turned out real nice keep up the good work!

I’ve also have used pvc and exhaust pipe in between the rubber hoses to make it work

Back when I was poor and young, I would make it happen by connecting various hoses together like that because every time I got a used radiator from someone, the inlet/ outlet was on the wrong side.

The older katolight generators tried to use common off the shelf stuff ,like those flexible radiator hoses so that way Farmer Joe could get one at Napa and not wait weeks for a custom factory part ✌️

I put a radiator cap fitting in the center of the crossover, with the overflow port plugged and a 35 psi cap installed. The 15 psi cap on the reservoir is for pressure relief to the overflow, and the cap in the center of the crossover is for filling and bleeding air. Because it's the highest point in the cooling system it makes bleeding the air after a drain and refill a breeze.
