Might I commend the term "Transfer punches" to your attention? Much better than a blob of spray paint. Also, blue the inside of the casing and see what gets touched / marked on the end of the crankshaft, rather than t'other way around. It might be the outside of the drive sprocket that's making contact. Lastly, have a long hard think about the drive belt runs when they're either being driven or are on the overrun. They look awfully close to the inside edges of the new spacer. Really, really lastly, and in closing, please spring for a drill press. :D

I knew there was a better way to mark the holes but couldn't remember the method . I have thought about the belt touching yes, might have to thin it some more, it's sturdier than I thought it was going to be. I have a drill press believe it or not, it was too complicated to set up for filming :)

PS, I blued (sharpied) the inside of the cover today, glued a bit emery on to the end of the crank. It's deffo not touching. I took the spacer out to see where it was touching and gave it a little bit more dremmeling for good measure.

I like the way that even though it is a proto-BSA, barely born yet, it pisses oil on the drive. Swells the cockles of me eart it does.

Haha, yes, it might be slightly less if I connect the pipes :)
