Looks like im a little late but wondering why anyone would swap out a 4v 4.6. Dont get me wrong coyotes are wicked and can make some incredible power however a upgraded supercharger, procharged, or turbo 4v can easily make the same power. Can anyone explain, not trying to be mean or an idiot but I always thought the 4.6 4v was pretty much a holy grail from ford? is this not the same engine as the cobra? Thanks
@Irish_Hooligan Жыл бұрын
Not to mention cost and part availability out of 4.6L motors is insanely cheap compared to a coyote. I can get a 2001+ 4.6L 2v with PI heads for next to nothing at my local yard and motor trend has pulled 600whp and 750tq on a stock block with ebay parts. I am a little more partial to the 2v heads vs the 3v or 4v only because the need for the cam phaser lock outs plus there was a ton more 2v motors than all 3v, 4v and coyote motors.
@PS_TRUDODYR Жыл бұрын
The coyote is a much better engine. It’s not even close. To put into perspective, the terminator cobra made 390 HP supercharged on the 4.6L platform The gen 1 coyote made more than that NA. 412 Hp. Coyote is one of fords greatest engines of all time, but the 4.6 still has a special place for a lot of people.

5:24 All of us that own this car, End up Buying the Same wheels, Don't We? It's All I See. I Own the 2002 in Yellow. I took those rims and had a Black tint put over them - And it makes a Beautiful Black-Chrome.
@jojogun19578 ай бұрын
I bet that looks sweet!When you say black tint do you mean actual window type sheet tint ,or do you mean like a spray tint?
@Anonymous_Music7 ай бұрын
@@jojogun1957 I archived this account so I won't be online to see your next reply, I only logged in to find a playlist - but it wasn't a window or spray. They professionally had a wrap of which I assume is Made for metal, put around the entire rim, even the inside you wouldn't see. It was very well done, and looks amazing. You wouldn't know at all, and would just assume it was a nice paint job. I've had the car for years now and I still keep these same rims on it. I'm riding with these on Racing Radial Tires. I plan on re-buying the same rims in the regular chrome after I have the car itself repainted. I've decided it's been Yellow for too long.

Pull that Procharger off and put a big Whipple on there, gain about another 2-3 hundred more horsepower.
@midnight347 Жыл бұрын
That is a horrible idea. That would be the worst thing he ever did to this car. It would go from reliable to unreliable as quick as it currently goes 0-100. Right now it is a very streetable very reliable setup which is one reason he has so much fun with the car. A Whipple big enough to add that kind of power is gonna be a huge Whipple those big blowers are not the ticket for street cars. People just keep making the same mistake over and over. Bigger is better right? No actually it isn't always better. If he was gonna switch blowers I'd do like an odin 2650 they're capable of pretty big power, real good torque and a good power band with good response. Usually when people go with big ass twin screws the reliability goes out the window and they start to have issues for various reasons. I'm not dissing Whipple I'm talking about the huge ones like 3.8 and 4+ liter. That is too big of a blower for a street car. The power level he's at and going to be at it just isn't needed. All it's gonna do is make response lazy and bring the big blower problems along with it. 2650 TVS can get him to 1000+ easy and is alot more fun.
@jeremywillis7407 Жыл бұрын
@@midnight347 I didn't say put the biggest damn huffer you can fit on it. But Whipple, Kenne Bell etc.. make kits made for his car that can hit that number. Reliability and throttle response is not a issue if anything is improved by a lot and is a definite improvement. You're right bigger isn't always better it actually slows you down if the engine isn't built for it. But I know what I'm talking about. You just have to know what works right for your application and goals. Kenne Bell took a 2005 GT 3 valve 4.6 and only changed the rods to forged units and put one of their blowers on and made 800 + horsepower.. They claim. There's dozens up on dozens of cars with blowers.. If it didn't work they wouldn't make or sell them. Plus they can be tuned to perform to the optimum.

The cobra brakes aren't that bad especially when you have upgraded fluid, pad and lines. They aren't super great like an aftermarket setup but I Def wouldn't say it would be sketchy they're alot better then the stock gt brakes.

It's badass but it's a simple recipe just build you one. This video even shows the steps taken lol. It's currently a gen 1 truck motor with boost on it. It's in the 700 wheel range that power level is gonna be more reliable than what is basically an all out race car on the street making 1300+ to the wheels.

There's just something right with a New Edge mustang. They were no longer the 90's college girl Mustang (everything soft, and round) but they also weren't the Ford 'Try Hard' for classic nostalgia modern designs that became instant rent-a-car 'classics'. I disagree with RCR who said the 5th gen S-197 was the 'Mustang-y-est" of the Mustangs: its not, the SN-95 New Edge is.

The t45 was in this car temporarily with the coyote and ProCharger. Will it drive and make power? Yes. Will it last racing and banging gears? No. If you baby it in between gears and reduce the chance of shock when the clutch Engadget and disengages you can make it last for a while before you put something else in
